  1. I like that 4th pic. YF-19 in the land of John Woo.
  2. The T isn't a radical departure from the other 17 variants so there might be a slight chance of seeing that. I'll bet the MAXL has a snowballs chance in hell. That one is a complete redesign.
  3. To be honest I've never had a broken shoulder, not even with my first release DYRL Hikaru 1A. That being said, the pins in my VF-X are smooth and it was released well after the shoulder break fiasco so you should be safe. That being said, be careful with the arm/shoulder joints on yours. Mine were INCREDIBLY stiff. I had to be sure I wasn't putting any excessive pressure on them while trying to transform.
  4. Those are decals, not paint!? WOW. I'm not a model builder or else I'd go in for one of these but I highly support anybody else on this board getting these kits, painting (or decaling) them up and taking photos so that I can live vicariously.
  5. Eh, if they were bending rules with HLJ then how come lots of other resellers besides just HLJ are selling these things as well? Hong Kong distributors, like where I got mine, are selling them too. I think it's more likely they're clearing out the left-over stock because most people didn't see the need to jump through hoops (or couldn't) to get them and Yamato decided to just sell off the rest in a manner fans could get hold of them.
  6. That looks really good, got any more photos of it?
  7. I agree, just because there's a bit of stylization on the hull during the animation doesn't mean they're bright and shiny.
  8. My VF-X and Angel Bird shipped Saturday and arrived today. Man, I REALLY love how the Angle Bird looks in fighter mode. The blue is a nice deep, dark color and it goes well with the red. Looks fantastic. I was interested in the relatively low-vis looking VF-X as well just because it's a more muted tone but so far I'm not nearly as excited about it as I am the Angle Bird.
  9. Did they? I didn't catch that in my e-mail. I'm glad they sent an e-mail. I'd forgot all about pre-ordering these things.
  10. I do too. Gerwalk is a stupid term if you ask me.
  11. If we could remove the shoulder fins I would be all over a P version as well.
  12. Why not? They've already got the majority of the fighter produce-able.
  13. The one saving grace to the design is that the feet don't really fold up into the leg all that much so most of the room inside the leg can be use for something things. Though I hadn't even considered the necessary room for joints/etc. Geez.
  14. It doesn't fit together great but that model is proportioned pretty well.
  15. Better to be pleasantly surprised rather than let down though. I'm looking at it like none of it can be done. Even if they get partial that's a win for me.
  16. My feeling is in order to get the fighter mode sufficiently compact yet allow for a more bulky leg in Battroid that all internal leg stuff (minus the landing gear) may have to be abandoned.
  17. What was "the" Bandai mistake?
  18. That's a lot of interesting stuff but I've gotta say, good luck fitting all of that crap into the legs and getting a slim fighter from it. I don't see how it's possible. Maybe Yamato will make me eat my words but I'm almost positive that the gun pod, at least, is going to wind up like the VF-22 and be left outside.
  19. Someone needs to get a pic of the 19 smashing a guitar over an amp.
  20. I suppose I really shouldn't be ask shocked at that price as I am. Thanks for the link. They do look very nice.
  21. What kind of cabinets are those? I really need something with glass to keep the dust down on mine.
  22. I agree. This way the cockpit can be set inside solid and there's room below for the bulbous Heat shield. That's close enough to PT for me personally.
  23. My idea for the heat shield, since the section beneath the cockpit isn't required for transformation they should just add an extra hatch below that contains the bulbous/funky heat shield. Just open it up, pull it out, pop it on top, and don't worry about implementing such an impossible PT because the one part to swap can be stowed right below where it needs to be.
  24. You know, seeing that collection of Macross 7 Valks it's too bad there's no chance the MAXL Custom will be made because that literally breaks up the band. Though I'm not a fan of Macross 7 or any of those specialized Valks looking at this picture I could see other fans being disappointed they can't get the entire Sound Force squad in 1/60. They may not even attempt the minor modification to the VF-17 for the Nightmare Custom either actually.
  25. There's a top and side cut-away in the VF-19 Master File book that shows where a few things go. Damn, that's a great pic. Really shows off the front profile well.
