Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Mommar replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Graham already said you'd have to remove the leg boosters between transformations. Removing the back as well doesn't bother me any. I'd just like to see it in all three modes with the Packs on. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force

I didn't panic. Just an observation. Also, I don't really care about canon especially in regards to anything Macross 7, since the only thing I like about that show is the Mech Designs (minus Basara's Valk which i find to be an eye-sore.) I can make my S do whatever I want, piloted by whoever I choose to make up. It could be like that episode of Dr Who where everyone on earth turns into The Master only instead every single pilot in every single Valk is me. I'm flying them all at the same time complete with an S in Battroid with Super Packs on. -

It's interesting there's no pics with the Fast Packs on in Battroid. -
I never liked the 27 to begin with. I'd rather have a 171.

Looks like those hips fold in and out. Let's hope they hold well when trying to pose it.

Eugimon is right, I also happen to own a 17S and the cockpit fits down into that peg. In Battroid it flips up and sits beneath the chest plate. You can see the hinge. -

What are you talking about? Nothing is removed from that thing at all. The canopy folds up beneath the chest plate. Other than a new head sculpt and some different colored paint this thing is complete. -
This works out well for me, I never got a D the first time around.
-
Yeah, that seems to be a universal trait of the 11C. I have three C's and they're all like that.

I brought this up in another thread but I'll re-state it here. It's odd that with Yamato supposedly holding off on M7 releases until later in the year (because of the supposed Blue Ray release we suppose) that we're seeing plenty of 17D and Fast Pack pics now but seeing or hearing nothing of the 19F or P. -
Wow, that looks really high quality! You did all of the missiles and contrails and effects as well?
-
The 17D and the Fast Packs are both M7 products too...
-
That's odd, I wonder why they're holding off showing more about the F and P but showing everything for the new 17's.
-
Is there also a 19F there as well? Look at that second pic over on the left. That's a 19's toe with a dab of blue showing. On topic now, I'm not quite sure the blue on this thing accurately matches the show's color. It seems a little bit too light or pastel or something. I still want one though.
-
What do you mean by next DX toy? You mean like a Michael or Luca... or something that's actually a brand new mold.

I find it odd they designed the 17 to accommodate the Fast Packs but not the 19. -
The 17 and 19 are infinitely more solid. My 25F is more solid than my 25S. In fighter there's still a chance of knocking things out of place if you hold them both wrong. I think Gerwalk is probably the nicest of the three modes. Battroid looks good but it's not terribly solid. The 17 and 19 are both rock solid in Fighter mode. Gerwalk both look great (mileage may vary with the 19's ankles if you're really unlucky.) Battroid the 19 is rock solid. Holds together perfect, like it was a non-transforming toy. The 17 is very fun to pose and play with but it's not quite as solid as the 19.
-
I'd spring for one for $400 simply because it's so unique we're practically guaranteed they won't get cheaper and we may never see something like this made again. I would not get three, one for every mode, like I tend to do though.

^I was just thinking if it's engineered right they should be able to adjust the weight of the pieces to offset whichever half is protruding more. That's not easy to design into something in some cases.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
Mommar replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I've attempted to order from them several times before but their stock has always gone from available, to backorder to not available. So you can give it a shot and see if they actually have any. They didn't try to keep money for an item I never received so you should at least be safe there. The other thing to note is that they seem to have a lot of things listed as "pre-order" that have long since been released. VF-17S, VF-19S VF-22 Max and Milia the SDF-1. I know there was supposed to be a re-release of the VF-17S in a few months but none of those others are. Possibly the 19S, maybe even the SDF-1 for the 30th anniversary but definitely not the 22's... unless Yamato is hoping the release of Mac7 on blue ray is going to renew interest in them. -
Super Deformed Destroids coming at Japan Wonderfestival
Mommar replied to ahiachris's topic in Model kits
I don't see a Regult but I do see a Glaug. Also they've got some VF-1A,J and S's on that webpage as well. -
Arguing over feigned practicality of an ultimately impractical cartoon plane is pretty silly. If you don't like the way it looks, like I do, just state you're not a fan and move on. Arguing over why somebody else shouldn't because you can't handle all of the intakes, or whatever it is, is silly and a little pathetic. PetarB likes it, and he built/painted a good looking model too. But telling him he painted a piece of crap well is just being a dick.

I mentioned I found it on ebay.uk a few posts earlier.

I just got my 25S today. Holy crap, for every one of you complaining about having something floppy/loose on yours Bandai must have tightened something a little bit extra on mine. I CANNOT get the plate with the head to move into position to transform to Battroid. I'm afraid to push on this thing any harder. It's just not sliding along that track. My hands are completely chewed up from all the pokey bits jammed into them as I try to move this freaking thing.
