  1. For the most part he was brutish, clumsy, over confident and could barely keep his head above water. In both movies he had small moments, because he has some of what Bond becomes which is why M took a chance on him, but he's absolutely green and doesn't have his footing in either films yet.
  2. I've only accidentally double-dipped once, and that's because I couldn't return a broken 1S TV Roy I purchased for a friend so I had to buy a third and since I already had the Valk around I relatively fixed it so now I've got two Roys. I'm not rebuying something unless it's broken... oh wait, I own three 11C's. They got me!
  3. You say right in your review that Bond Films are fantasy. I took that to mean like the original Connery Films oward. How does Casino Royale, which was conceived to be more like the books then the old campy films, fit into that paradigm while Quantum doesn't? Also: "But it's not Bond. Bond is the opposite. He's cool. In control. Knows where he's been, what he's doing, and where he's going." Daniel Craig was not cool, in control or had a clue where he was going in Casino Royale, it was his very first mission, and this movie picks up right after that so why would any of that have changed in the twenty minute gap between the credit roll of Casino and the opening of Quantum?
  4. Well, it highlights why it wasn't a Sean Connery Bond Film. If you wanted that, you didn't like this one. I expected it to be like a Daniel Craig Bond film and I got that in spades.
  5. This happens in a lot of engineering fields more often then you might think. There's always improvements/refinements to be made. Things that couldn't work because of time/budget/etc... but sound great can easily be sold as features for newer models. That doesn't mean the previous idea was bad, and indeed it could still have been an excellent idea and execution, but that doesn't mean new insight/more time won't yield better results in the future.
  6. Everyone keeps telling me Quantum wasn't good but nobody can articulate to me why it wasn't. I had no problem with it.
  7. I'm no mechanical engineer. None of my ideas for Fast Packs for the 19 have panned out either. I'm interested to see how this 11 mod works out.
  8. Wow, how thick is it? Like I said, I had a similar idea for the VF-19 but the edges on the wings are so thin that they would be damaged if something clipped on to the edges. I'm assuming you're using the ridge farther in on the 11. Not something easily done on the 19. I was considering something connecting more towards the root but that's not super stable the farther out you go on the wings.
  9. I'm betting somewhere around 26,900 or $340 US. The S alone was roughly $300, I'm willing to bet the extra packs will add somewhere between $20 to $40 to the price.
  10. Interesting post by MyClone. Some people only want different/variant colors or non-mainline colors. I guess we're the freaks of the world man!
  11. Where is that going to attach to the 11? It looks like a similar idea I've had for wing mounted missiles on the VF-19.
  12. And it looks like an ES-11D Cat's Eye too.
  13. That is an extremely lighter shade of Blue. That wasn't the case in the animation was it?
  14. So how do you explain all of the knock-offs?
  15. I plan on doing this with the 171 if both of my orders come in too.
  16. It looks like they darkened up the blue to make it better reflect the animation colors.
  17. Yamato uses final pictures of the actual products on their boxes, not sketches. You can't base anything on the fact they have a mocked up image on the box with a drawing right now. It appears they've focused on the central portion, for purposes of getting fighter/battroid correct and haven't bothered with the legs/wings yet. Perhaps once they get to the wings they will realize the angles need to be adjusted. On the other hand maybe the canards need to be steeper in order to accommodate transformation. We don't know right now and we're seven months out so there's still a chance things will be adjusted. The nose wasn't as curved when we first saw pics and now fighter mode fans are happy with that so there's still a chance.
  18. They still sell them on ebay... for exorbitant prices. You're likely to only find DYRL versions as well. TV versions are extremely rare.
  19. Like I said, fighter and gerwalk look good with the packs. Battroid, the leg part seems kinda smallish and doesn't really sit on the calf all that well. You can't even see the backpack portions.
  20. You're right, they do have a torso example up there. I wonder if anybody snapped shots (or if they're allowed to.)
  21. I agree cheng, that nose does look a little too "needle" which was always one of my complaints about the garage kits as well.
  22. It's like Max or Kaki's paint schemes on their 1A's only green.
  23. You're right, these things are already pushing $300. With the packs that means they're likely $320 to $350 now.
