That Kit is horrible looking. Too elongated overall and the pauldrons on the front are ridiculous in length.
-
Interesting that the missiles aren't darker like they were on the Low Vis 1S.
-
Damn, this thing needs some sweet customized Fast Packs to go with it!.

Stop all the down loadin'.

I think we all want to see more pictures of the Grey version. I'd have been very happy if Bandai had released the 171 like this.

I'd take a 2SS. 2JA. I'd even take a Metal Siren however I'd have to remove the dippy needle nose bit from it.
-
Really? They slide forward. That'll make a HUGE difference on this thing.

I'm sick of these games being Sony only. I don't own Sony products.

Interesting. I'm the total opposite. I'm quite happy the armor covers up the 171's self-promotion.

I'm still convinced they'll do it right. I just thought it was interesting. Upon closer inspection it's obvious that thigh isn't really braced where it should be on the final version anyway and it's still being propped up. Even still it looks damn good even in it's floppy form. I think they'll be smart with both Diecast placement and using the lightest parts where they can to balance it out. The 17 and 19 have been rock solid in Battroid. They seem to be getting their stuff together these days.

I think what Knight26 is trying to say is that we think your model is really awesome and we can't wait to see the rest of it.
-
I assume it's the same deal for the Hip Canards as well. As for line-art accuracy... I don't see anybody else attempting a conversion of this magnitude.
-
It still appears to be a prototype that is being propped up but note that the thigh is angled backward a little bit. You may be right about it's weight distribution. Though they may find ways to lighten it's load now that they've got these things assembled/standing. One would hope anyway.

It's be nice to see a painted up version of the Battroid as well. It's definitely a subtle scheme. Very low viz like. This could wind up being a dream for people who like to paint their own schemes... except for the price/availability.

I don't know I think, at least based on the side and top views, that extra hinged booster completes the look. Otherwise you'd have those sort of half-sized leg attachments and nothing else. Even still, I think it's a better design then the silly pre-cursor VF-25 packs Kawamori was messing with.

Thanks. I didn't notice panel A there.

I see panels on the shins, that's not where the landing gears are located though.

Actually, my question was concerning the extra flaps that fold up and down at the ends of the regular wings. Not the actual wings themselves. I was wondering how well they would hold when folded over for use in Battroid. That's a case where they could easily flop back out and it would be irritating. The wings look good as is, they don't need to cut into the legs like in the show. I'd actually think that would make transformation a bitch since you'd have to figure out a way to finagle the wings out of the thighs on top of folding the legs down. That seems messy/irritating.

That style of VF-4 Fast pack was directly taken from that VF-1 concept. This is pretty cool looking too. Are you going to make that crazy looking cannon as well? I'm chomping at the bit for more VF-4 pictures/info too. We all are.

Good question about missiles in the chest. They're thick but it doesn't look like they open. I don't recall that they ever contained missiles anyway.

Yeah, no, it was Sketchely who did it. They're definitely not the Kawamori one's... I actually think this fan design is cooler. http://studiootaking.deviantart.com/gallery/142336#/d11d6a4 http://studiootaking.deviantart.com/gallery/142336#/d11damm

If Shapeways stop being dicks about things how about a fourth one and you can customize it with those fast packs Veef (I think it was him) designed for the VF-4.
-
Huh, there may not be any landing gear access with the armor on at all. I'm glad I have a second one I can slap these parts on but that thigh piece looks like it's going to be a pain in the ass to keep on during transformation/posing. Also, with the way those things clip on I'm willing to bet some paint is going to disappear.

I'm not going to hem and haw but I believe Chronocidal is right that it would be lazy not to fix it. It's also still possible they're tweaking things and haven't gotten to it yet? Remember the nose didn't used to have any curvature and they've now fixed that. The feet were old VF-1 looking feet until just recently they've changed shape/function (though they don't recess to some people's preferences... yet.) it's possible they're still working up/tweaking the placement for other things and won't bother until the end. Getting the transformation to function is the #1 priority. I'm sure fin configuration is at the end of a very long list.

This poll still isn't really accurate. This poll asked how many would I buy, not how many I'm actually going to. I would buy three. I like to leave one in each of the three modes. Realistically based on price and the time of year they're releasing I'm only getting one.
