That's too bad, I thought the idea of a Hybrid (thinking of the 11/19 one) for testing sounded pretty cool.
-
There's pics of semi-transformable F-14's as well?
-
There have been no widepsread cases of breakage on the 19 that I'm aware of. The first release people didn't realize the upper thigh only clicked three times instead of four and people were forcing it (which is not the toys fault) and breaking it. Otherwise, except for the few of us Gerwalk fans who HATE the ankles inability to angle back as far as we like, my 19S has survived almost a year without any issues and my 19F seems just as solid. I tend to be Mr. Gentle though. Some of the transformation videos I see people make around here make me wince to watch. I also tend to think males don't realize that even when they think they're being gentle they're still being too rough.

Between the upper thigh/leg transformation and the space required for the landing gear it's physically impossible to get those feet any further in.

So has anybody bothered to translate what they're saying there? It's interesting, they comment that the wings are warped in the photo. Anybody who notices the curve upward they say that won't be the case on the final model. Also, it sounds like there will be a small cover in the intake to hide the portion of the hand that shows when in fighter mode. The area for storing the hands is too small so they have fixed posed hands for transformation but they will have "moveable" hands available for switch out. Maybe that means we can arm our VF-4's with a GU-11 in Gerwalk/Battroid. They warn that on the final version they will have to paint on the red stripe on the thighs and you should be careful not to scratch it (at least they're open/honest.) Apparently they comment on the fact that the lower legs are a little long in Battroid but it can't be helped because they have to be a certain length to look right in fighter. Somebody also commented that Battroid is incredibly balanced/stable. We'll see about that. That's what I've been able to make out so far anyway.

You know I used to prefer the original smooth head but with your quick photo shop on the actual product I could see liking that one now too.

My new computer finally arrive Monday and I had time to install the game last night and put it through it's paces. All of the PhysX and particle effects make it really hard to aim/shoot enemies. There's sparks and shards and smoke/fog and bits of cloth getting in front of EVERYTHING all the time.

Secrets of the VF-14m7 P*L*U*S finally revealed!

Has LucasFilm done that before??? -
Ancillary craft have appeared in the other books in only fighter form as well. VF-11, VF-17, VF-171, YF-21, VF-22, VF-27, YF-29. Hell, the VF-9 didn't even appear as a real photo. It was just a top-down, black-and-white diagram. It's not surprising they didn't include additional images/modes for those other craft. That's always been the case with these books, even if it is disappointing.

The purple fold quartz on the chest versus the green visor don't really work/go together in Battroid.

Skimpy in what way? Much smaller page-wise then the other books?

Considering what a giant pain in the ass getting the neck portion of my Ozma to get in position was the photographer probably said "eff it" and left it the way it was.

I do wonder how well an unpainted kit version of this would do. People seem to really like to customize the airframe on this one however they're not usually fond of the other two modes. As great as it looks in fighter would the extra cost for a transformable version that still has to make concessions for the other two modes be worth it to someone who can get a model kit for cheaper of the fighter mode that doesn't have to worry about other modes?

Fair enough. In that photo it seems lighter.

That's extremely pragmatic. I can respect that. I've seen it happen too. I was attempting to avoid speaking in absolutes but I was basing it on, I think it was Kicker's, response that it had met expectations (which has still not been VERIFIED unless somebody with more knowledge of production/toy sales can chime in about why it might be.) The thing is that right now because it isn't the FB2012 version some people aren't buying this at all. And it appears they're assuming, based on some past experiences or simply stubborn, they believe a FB2012 version will appear. Otherwise sales of this version of the VF-4 may be higher still if it weren't for that divide. In other news I've been gazing at the flyer for the VF-4 that came with my 19F and I'm dying for more pictures (really, one of these in hand.) I wish i could swing paying for more than one but between having to buy a new computer, new windows and new stucco there's no way I can justify all of that extra expense.

Oh man, that's rough. I totally understand. I had a hard enough time continuing with any activities when I was still on unemployment, to say nothing of it running out. I hope things turn around soon. Keep at it bro.

You added bullet damage to the 1D? -
Yup, me too. Can't wait for it!

Damn, look at the size of the wings on that D. It looks like it's wearing a cape. Are there many "real-world" renders of the C/D in the book as well? Really? When you contract out work you don't typically own the 3D models being worked on and keep them in a central repository after the fact?

I still would like to see Yamato take a stab at it. It's an interesting problem. They'd have a template for four different Valks that way. The 109A and F, and the two versions of the 14 too. Maybe the AZ-130 as well but that one is a little bit crazier. -

I don't know, those Toy engineers are pretty creative. They might be able to come up with something pretty clever for that. I'd bet it's made of diecast, Whatever the solution is. -
Color-wise that blue seems too bright to me.

Other than missing that post about the licensing issue which brings to close any speculation I had about FB2012... why are you answering a question I didn't ask? That's twice in this thread someone has imagined some other question/statement to answer. Nowhere did I say Yamato was going to announce/discuss any sort of other release. I made a speculation if this release did well, and if anybody here knew how that was going, maybe that would indicate an FB2012 release.
