So that's a "The First" inspired scheme huh?

Star Trek Into Darkness, in theaters May 17, 2013
Mommar replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If Star Trek to you is cool characters and adventures you must not have been watching the same DS9 as me because they had some VERY memorable stories/characters. While that's true, JJ's version does lack most of the heart of the originals regardless of how popular the spectacle is. There's a chance they will get better. The captains lecture to Kirk about his Dad in the first movie was actually a pretty good start to that. We'll see if they continue. Certainly Gene's vision for TNG wasn't great and it improved after his death, there were still kernels of his ideas there.- 1020 replies

I tend to be out of leftfield in this thread a lot of times but the producer . Scott Hardkiss, just passed away yesterday at the age of 43 and he was pretty influential to me when I was a teenager.

That's really cool looking. Do you have pics in the other two modes as well?

I kind of want to special make those Fast Packs of yours sketchley. I know they're redundant given how the VF-4's engines already function but I think it's a great idea how you implemented them.

I'm wondering if the RVF parts are going to be Tamashii exclusives instead of being a separate release. As long as the attachment points are already there the actual 171 is identical.

It's not a concept, it's just the only shelf I have. Yes, it gets ridiculously dusty (especially in New Mexico during the windy Spring Time.) I have to go over everything with cotton swabs in some cases every few months.

Thanks, it's still sloppy. There's some stuff crammed in the back of the top shelf you can't really see. When I started introducing stands is when things started to get really crowded/awkward.

Compared to many others it doesn't seem very large but there really aren't too many 1/60 Yamato Valks I'm missing anymore. Four 1F's, one 11B, Three YF-19's, a 21 and 22 and the Fire Valk are it really. In the case of disaster, they burn. They're nice and all but not worth killing myself over. The only real risk around here is a fire and maybe a minor chance of tornado's, flooding or earthquake (there's a chance of one of those anywhere though.)

I still can't help but feel this is a gift horse in the mouth type situation.

I'm liking the armor mash-ups here.
-
That would interfere with the cockpit removal gimmick however.

That's a minor gripe in Fighter mode IMO, I really don't see how it's all that far off in Battroid personally. With Yamato's fancier approaches to things on their latest toys I'd imagine they would have had a far easier time making the VF-1 closer to perfect now, however. I'm not sure there's any possible way to make the heat shield attach anyplace else

What's wrong with where the backpack is now?

I agree, I think the shoulder transformation on the Hi-Metal is superior as are the hips. Otherwise, I know some people want the head positioned lower but I find I prefer the look of the V2's being higher up.

While I do own quite a bit I usually buy by what I think looks cool. For instance, I don't own a Kakizaki SDFM VF-1A because I won't care for his colors. On the other other hand I'm a HUGE fan of Max so I have is SDFM 1A and 1J, DYRL 1A and 1S and his 22. I don't have anything from Mac Plus, unless you include the Double Nuts YF-19 because it's the only color scheme I like.

Would you like a Yamato FB2012 VF-4 now? How about a renewal VF-0? Or a renewal YF-19? Because you're not getting any of those at any price anymore.

I do think it's amusing that so many people bitched and moaned about how expensive every little Yamato item was and now that the source has been cut off they're panicking and buying up everything. That's the epitome of looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I'd better find some more Super Packs and get a third VF-17 so I can keep one in each mode. I figured there would be a chance for a Milia/Ray/Teal version I could get as a third option but that's probably not happening at all now.

I wish I had a local shop selling these still.

As far as I recall the armor never contained or fired missiles during the entirety of the Mac F. show. Artdink has been taking liberties as far as I can tell, though it would make sense considering the VF-25 Chest armor does open.

Or, rather, I have tried to take them off but the back pack versions are on REALLY tight and I haven't been able to successfully remove them. The leg parts don't damage anything at all however.

I just realized, does this thing have cannons built into its forearms as well?

Good question. I actually haven't tried to remove my super parts since I put them on.
