Wow, I hadn't checked HK in awhile. Even Max and Kaki's DYRL 1A's are gone now.

Oh does it? That's right, it came out after they fixed the crotches but got mixed in with the problematic shoulder pins still.
-
The VT-1, on first release, had the shoulder problem. A lot of people had waited on several of the releases to be sure there weren't any issues and the VT-1 was verified to have one so people skipped it. They want a rerelease with the fixed crotch and the shoulders that are good and it's never happened. It did also sell out pretty fast as well. Not like a new Bandai, but pretty fast. On the other hand I'm wondering why the 11C is suddenly in such high demand as it languished on shelves for years. I was able to buy a second and third version for much cheaper than retail during one of HLJ's Christmas sales a year after it was released.

Yeah, I thought there was a new update too. I really wanted to see this thing completed.

NY knows there's a foreign audience who are used to paying higher prices. At this point they don't even have to clear out any of the other online retailers. All they need to do are clear out the shops around their warehouse and they'll be the only one's with stock available online after the first twenty minutes. I very much doubt they're buying up every item from every other online portal, since most of them have order limits that would be way too cumbersome, but I bet they know the higher prices will still move and have been making sure to pick up as many domestically as possible.

Maybe it doesn't look as stylish as the anime but it's a cool attempt at a real world re-creation.

They do not fit super tight on my Alto 171. But I was thinking more that the plastic might actually bend.

I'm wondering how heavy those MDE's are. Those wings might bend a little bit.

$307 each for the two VF-4's.

I think in this case you probably just got really unlucky with a piece that wasn't cast right. I haven't heard of anybody else (fingers crossed) who has had that problem. It sucks, but I think you have a truly unique defect. It'll be interesting to see if your F also has the issue though I would be terrified to take any of these newer toys apart. You're a brave man.

Geeze Kuri, you're a monster! I'd love to see you whip something like this out in person. You're so fast.

Hopefully Kawamori will get a look and tell them "no" or something.

I suppose there's always the possibility someone will point out they have the colors wrong and change them. They aren't due out until September anyway.

Yeah, they figured out how to sell these again by adding the extra bombs. I wasn't interested in more armor parts but the bombs I do want.

Posing in Battroid is okay, if fiddly. Until you try to pick it up and the top half separates from the bottom. Fighter holds together well if you can tolerate the gullet. Gerwalk is a huge pain and I skip it... maybe only slightly more often then the VF-19 version of Gerwalk. I usually keep mine in Battroid and just don't pick it up much as I personally feel it's the least objectionable looking of the three modes.
-
The plastic on the 19's is different. The other two major issues are that the plastic is thin on the wings and can be easily bent/damaged (in addition to being a bit translucent as Scyla pointed out) and the Gerwalk joint in the thigh can be easily snapped, though it hasn't happened in awhile, because it only clicks down three times but seems like (and there should be... but that would further show how poorly designed the ankles are) a fourth click and there isn't.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard of this game before. It looks like it could be interesting/fun but the trailer itself is shot/directed very poorly and doesn't get the game across as well as it could in terms of potential excitement.- 6862 replies

To be honest with you the entire thing is pretty poorly designed IMO. Be careful with all of the joints and understand that in both Gerwalk and Battroid the Torso section does not secure like on the VF-19. It's a floppy mess all around really.
-
They did use different plastics back then too. Just via touch you can tell those really old 1/60's were a lot different/more brittle. People were discovering breaking shoulders on their YF-19's and breaking arms on their VF-0's many years before this. The newer toys have specifically had most of those old breaking joints replaced with diecast, likely to avoid such problems in the future. There's always a chance still.
