Hmm, forgot about him. Still not any sort of giant, offensive change based on that one picture.- 1020 replies

He really doesn't look that different. This one is Bald which they've never really shown before, so it looks a tad odd but for the most part it's relatively accurate. Not sure where the switched stereotype comes from.- 1020 replies

Well, from what I've read I'm inclined to believe the women who claims to have actually conceived of the idea for the movie, presented it to the Wachowski's and then they went ahead and ripped it off. As it appears they didn't understand her original intent the first movie largely got it. The next two were made purely by profit and ego, and it shows. The first one was fine the way it was. Just enough plot and style to be really fun and engaging. The next two were horrible lessons in masturbation.

crap, I thought there was an update to this toy too. Thanks a lot Lance.

I might buy this ugly thing if it means they can make more Macross toys.

Which one image? The original post? Because it's not clearly a model. The top down image from the hlj link and this new one look different in several key aspects.

You're right, that other Hase image doesn't look like a 1/60 but the first image posted certainly does and it has the proportions and some of the articulated bits from the 1/60's. Good find.

Yeah, thanks. I actually know they still have them in stock there, I just can't justify another purchase. I'll have to live with the dinged stabilizer. -
I don't know about that. It looks identical to the other one's. Unless some of the internal plumbing we can't see has changed. Regardless, it's Macross related so that's a good sign.

Damn, I wish I could read Japanese right now. Or, rather, enough of it that it matters. Picking out two of 100 words is next to meaningless. I'm seeing something about the 1J 30, then another list of Vf-1's with A,D,J,S and later on something with an 11 that might meant he 11 Kai. Something about an OVA too.

I have so many problems with the postal service in the US that I always pay extra for another service if I can. I don't like it, but I like not having hassle/lost/delayed/etc... packages a lot less.

You all could keep arguing with me in an attempt to try to be right or you could read Chronocidals explanation on why it's all a bad idea because he is correct. If Star Trek was full of dumb idea's let's fix it. Poorly rehashing an already dumb idea is more dumb, regardless of how much of a spectacle JJ can make it out to be.- 1020 replies

If you want to get technical Iron Man 3 was co-produced with some companies in China, so not all of the money came from the US, but it's all Hollywood so that makes it domestic. PetarB is being completely pedantic about it.

I agree, B5 had a good story that wasn't allowed to be told. The Matrix was ruined by it's own creators.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'

I think it looks pretty exciting. Hopefully the story isn't banal. I think the more footage of the Jaegers I see in the film the better they look. Even Gipsy Danger, which I haven't cared for in promotional pics, looks better within the context of the film.- 1207 replies

Come on people, let's see these squadron pics! Also, shipping notice is in from NY. Not sure why via Fed Ex it's expected to show up next Monday.

I was day one and Fed Ex. I'm not sure that's the measure of who gets it first.

Wow, that was fast. When did it ship and what carrier did you use? Mine is still sitting waiting at preparation in progress.

No, it's still the Unification War. There were many theaters involved. As in World War 2, there were several theaters such as the Pacific, North Africa, Europe, etc... They all didn't happen at the same time or in the same area's but it was centered around a single topic.

The 19P comes with a Gunpod. Speaking of the 19P, I was just looking mine over today. It took a bad spill off the shelf a month ago. I didn't notice the stabilizer on the left leg is dinged and bent now. Hell of a time to find a replacement. Oh well. -
Do they elaborate on what those improvements are? I'd imagine the wing pins would have to be significantly better when you take into account how heavy the Reaction and MDE warheads are going to be. In fighter it doesn't matter because the legs are folded up and can help prop the wings. In Gerwalk they're fully exposed. The pins have to work better of that sucker is coming apart. The fact they're improving things on their second release is really positive actually. They're not content to rest on all of their laurels.

Why is it odd? Do you recall the teeth gnashing you've made about the 171's transformation/wings? I agree they've done a good job with these new releases but they still aren't always as fun to transform. I pretty much keep my 171's and 25's in a single mode because I just don't like transforming them back and forth.
