Macross related items on WonderFestival 2013 Summerinter (JAPAN)

Where are you seeing a Battroid image? -
Why?
-
Except for the pre-orders that aren't paid for at release, yes. Made to order with no extras. The down side is if you don't have the money or you're not sure you like it until after the pre-sale you're SOL.

So what are you willing to pay for Arcadia YF-19?

Except the only 1/60 that is actually $160 is the 30th Anniversary tampo nightmare. The 1S is selling for $140. -
Nippon-Yasan.com They're a webshop.

I still wonder why they never match the fold crystals and canopy to the visor on battroid. Also, I'm wondering if this is to test the waters for other Mac 30 valks? Kinda mean to brand this one with the Macross 30 logo, which has the YF-30 right on it, and never actually release the 30. Yeah, yeah. I will stop harping on that now. Everybody knows I want a 30.

Really, the price of the new VF-1S is about the same as always. $120, add the stand that's an extra $20 (I don't accept the idea that a stand isn't worth that much like some people have cried about.) So it's not like things are ridiculously skewed upward. The VF-4 was never expected to be popular and was barely known, it was expensive and I got lucky and got away with two just under $800. The YF-19 by comparison is known the world over, even by a lot of Robotech fans. Plus wasn't popular in Japan but it seems like the Japanese are at least fans of Isamu, enough that he was worth getting a nod in Frontier and pretty prominent feature (I'm told) in Macross 30. You would think that means it would be priced to move and stay as close to the VF-19 series as possible. They were, on average, $230 at start. Even with the extras that should only be an extra $50. Maybe there's a stand, maybe there isn't. Maybe production costs have increased and they'll have to pad it a bit more as well. With that in mind I'm betting this thing is right around the VF-4/VF-17D with Fast Pack price range. between $300 and $350. Certainly not cheap, and a far cry from where I used to be comfortable spending on these toys (the first two years I refused to even get the VF-11 because of its price and almost skipped the Milia and Max variants because they were $150 each..) -
The reason for the uniboob gap is because the shape of the fuselage behind the cockpit is different from the nose cone and it can't completely fill that gap in. They had one of the previous VF-19 releases as well. It's really not that large on the actual toy, and depending on which scene from Plus you're watching it's technically accurate. It's been animated with that same bit of gap.

I had my nephew pull the leg off of one of my Toynami 1/100 Regults. At least he skipped over the Hi-Metal's.
-
Where do you keep your collection that he could see it?
-
Funny that Isamu in a YF-29 is getting a higher billing then the Valk the game is named after. Even still, comparing the sales of the game versus how well Frontier did you'd think a repaint of the YF-29 with Ozma's name next to it would still be more popular just because more people know who Ozma is. I guess whatever I think doesn't have to be true in any way.
-
I keep my collection away from most prying eyes. The only people who have ever seen them have been a few male friends, and a girlfriend and her kids. The male friends all know they're at least related to Robotech, Misty didn't know what they were but thought her boy Logan would like them. Logan thought they were transformers and was transfixed with the VF-17. If he weren't eight I would have bought him one. Nobody else sees them and nobody else needs to.

I am hoping they'll do some more web-exclusive paint schemes. I'd like this and an Ozma. Maybe they'll make the YF-30 a web exclusive? Or the game wasn't popular enough to warrant making any version.
-
I'd like an armored version too. Or a few of the VF-X variant colors. I wonder if any of them would actually sell though. I'm not sure that armored VF-11 would be any more popular though it would be far more expensive.
-
Why would the middle of the tail fins be hinged? It wasn't the two points attaching i had a problem with, it was the fact the gunpod wasn't angled forward.
-
I understand you want a VF-11C but I can't see why they would ever bother releasing one again. They languished on shelves as it was for years. They aren't sellers at all, and with the way prices are going they aren't going to get cheaper.
-
See that close up of the wing. Those hard points are very 171-ish. Actually, they look like they're recessed better.
-
There are some benefits aren't there?
-
I don't have any of my boxes anymore. Moving will be a real trip for me if/when it happens.
-
I still find it interesting they went with the Isamu scheme next. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to make Ozma? Wasn't he more popular and certainly more well known to the Japanese right now?
-
Good, they're terrible at keeping a cohesive story held together. JJ's directing style is just perfect for Star Wars, things will be fast pace with banter and he can handle lots of effects shots, but his writers are all terrible (Star Trek could have benefited from keeping his writers away as well.)

And this is a web exclusive so none of that ridiculous pre-order bs like last time, right?
-
Those gray bits must be spots for magnets. The YF-19 doesn't have the benefit of those deep cut grooves to provide friction when folded down in Gerwalk/Battroid like the VF-19's do. Those tail fins are only on little pivots, magnets would help hold the wings down
-
Why wouldn't the shoulders angle? It's necessary for transformation from Fighter to Gerwalk/Battroid that the shoulders angle to disengage from the back of the calf. The VF-19's already do it as a matter of necessity. It's cool Arcadia is stepping it up with wing hard points, etc... It's too bad that the old Yammie VF-19's didn't have that extra bit though. Some of the Master File photos of the 19F/S loaded with Reaction Missiles looked cool too.

What are those two images supposed to be? They're not loading for me at all.
