  1. I specifically asked someone here who speaks Japanese if they could ask Mr. K about the ankles a few pages back.
  2. Maybe they don't know it's flawed? Enough people on here tell me that's still the case.
  3. Your transformation idea looks about right, maybe a few of the actual details will be slightly different in practice, but I think you ballparked it well. The only issue is that the chest/body of the battroid lines up with that forward half. The whole back half of the cockpit and the nose cone jam out the back. Would have been better if the nose cone folded underneath the cockpit facing downward instead... kind of in an inverted VF-4 style. The video completely skips over that part. Though on the lego model it looks like the back plate sits at an angle, has no gap in the back, and completely covers the cockpit/nose cone from the back. Maybe not the nose cone. Dunno. That CAD isn't very flattering to Battroid mode while the game footage of it looks perfectly good.
  4. Those damn ball joints...
  5. I could go for Blue Stripes... then again I'll take one of any Valk with blue on it.
  6. Something to consider. Now that the arms aren't tucked underneath, and the fact the missile box is straight up the middle, how is Bandai going attach that gunpod? Also related to that giant missile box up the middle. The YF-30 is as back heavy as the 25/27/29 series but that box covers up the area where they normally have the brace to keep everything from drooping in Gerwalk. Also, looking back at the old prototype pics there's something else about it that makes it look so good... it's matte. I'll bet the actual toy will be glossy like the rest.
  7. It does kind of seem like if you could slide those tail fins up and then completely fold the wings down against the back you'd have a far more compact Battroid.
  8. I had no idea those tabs were there.
  9. If the wings swung in after being rotated that would probably make a huge difference.
  10. What did they do with the wings in the game? None of the pics really show off what that looks like but the back of this thing looks like a bit of a mess. (also, that black iron man fig looks cool too.)
  11. Plus Super Parts for the CF-25...
  12. If they kickstart SDFM SDF-1 I'll pitch in $500.
  13. Is it a sign of anything? I mean, hopefully this bodes well, but how do we actually know?
  14. I'll take pink in the center, thank you.
  15. Oh good God how I want that Operation Phantom Sword Scheme. All you would need is a part to attach the VF-11 Fast Packs and attach a second Fold booster to the bottom and you could have that sucker loaded up like in the Master File.
  16. Red ghost, blue plane... maybe. But Sheryl? That doesn't make any sense to me.
  17. The 19's have never been prone to breaking... and what's the difference between spending that kind of money on one plastic thing versus a pile of them? It's all crap in the end. Save the high and mighty act for someplace else. I love that blue canopy the way it is. I've never felt the need to have the canopy open nor do I care about how detailed that little area is. I absolutely do not want a completely clear canopy.
  18. I agree, I want that effing blue canopy exactly as shown. Love it. Where can I vote to keep it like it is?
  19. If you're assuming the 2036 non-cannon video game transformation, yes it's similar. Though that was based on the actual VF-4 and not the semi-goofy, short neck YF-4. However, that fan drawing looks a lot like the final one here. Seriously, look at Gerwalk. Push the legs forward, the packs forward and change the shape of the shoulder. Same thing. Now, there are only so many ways to do it and if it were closer to how the actual VF-4 transforms they'd likely have a lawsuit. I just thought that old fan art and the actual design are interesting for being pretty similar. The connotation it was "stolen" is merely a jab at Harmony Gold... you know, because of Robotech.
  20. Possibly look harder? Other than pushing the thrusters up farther and angling the wings up in Gerwalk they're the same. Battroid as well, just a different style head. I said "based on" I didn't say "100% replica" but they're extremely similar.
  21. In a vacuum it looks awesome. Stick the new mold next to it and the deficiencies become apparent.
  22. Looks like they based the transformation on some of fan art (or flat-out stole it...) http://beta.robotech.com/community/fan/art/viewfanart.php?id=2438
  23. Actually, it appears this transformation is a combination of the VF-2SS and the unofficial VF-4 transformation seen in that Macross 2 video game (that I cannot recall, or find the name for) that essentially mimed the look of the VF-1... for Battroid anyway. I don't think it looks fantastic, but they're working with the prototype style which rounds out everything in odd ways the more boxy VF-4 in the Mac2 did not which made it resemble the VF-1 a lot more. They could have done a lot worse then they did. I don't think the pose of battroid mode is very flattering.
  24. Nah man, I liked the look of the Tan CF based on the pics from the Master File books which don't have those stripes. I think my 25's look fine without them.
