MickyG's Yamato VF-1S Unpainted, Unassembled Kit Build
Mommar replied to mickyg's topic in The Workshop!
Hey micky, I just checked out my own 30th Anniversary Valk. B13 is black plastic with a tiny bit of white painted on the front edge so it doesn't suffer any sort of scratching like in that photo Addict posted. -
Well, at the very least we now know, to everyone who hates him, he either doesn't care what you think or can play you all off as crazy in interviews.

Don't forget 171 Super Parts are this month. 25G Super parts and 25A next month, then RVF Super in Nov and Isamu 29 in Dec.

I'd love to see everybody's different take on design.

Likely one of the reasons Arcadia (and Yamato before them) didn't bother. On the other hand, if those cover plates were hollowed out Maiden Japan could get the look of the top and side forearm cannons to look more recessed/better. The missiles would just have to be re-sized down in order to keep the look the same top to side to bottom. But, yeah, pretty much impossible without severely undersizing/oversizing open/closed. It amuses me how many people were complaining Arcadia didn't make one of these for the new 19 and actually claimed you could make one that would transform and stay on in fighter mode as well. From the screens in the show it looks like those covers all stay as one single piece. Looking at other lineart it appears the angled parts at the front actually swivel up as well, that would make the whole thing more likely to work, but you'd still have to fudge dimensions. The size of the missiles on the bottom are not uniform however. The center one is obviously smaller than the rest, except in the animation it appears the bottom two are slightly smaller.

Star Trek Into Darkness, in theaters May 17, 2013

You must be forgetting the entire Dominion War storyline in DS9 then. They had several different episodes with entire fleets of ships engaged with each other. I especially remember the Defiant leading the charged flanked by some Galaxies, and a much larger force in tow. Hell, on of the Galaxy-class vessels pulled a barrel-roll (which was cheesy.)- 1020 replies

The "Real" Giant Robots... by Fred Patten

Right at the beginning of the article he says, "here are a few of my favorites." It's by no means meant to be exhaustive. -
All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

I actually have bucketloads of classic games, I'm just not sure how, other than being able to plug it in to my receiver via HDMI, it really matters if I can play these old games on my TV. Those old pixel games lose their charm without all of the scan-lines/etc.- 6756 replies

While Stallone already did Rocky, there will be that comparison as he's playing another boxer here (both of them, but more people will remember Stallone), what's wrong with the rest of the movie/story/etc? Obviously it's geared in a different direction then Rocky was, plus there's a lot of talented actors, and there seems to be some genuine attempt at comedy. I could see someone old and beat up like my Dad really enjoying it, which I presume is why this whole movie is being made, for people his age. If anything the trailer is cut well.

Considering I don't care for the Battroid mode on the 21/22 I've never seen seen the faces on my Gamlin/Max 22's. For all I know I could have the same problem and not know it.

As far as we can tell, yes.

I think most of the hate are from people in the US who don't have to jump through those customs loops. I personally think there's no justification for it and I've appreciated every single thing I've been able to order via Nippon-Yasan. Then again I don't really care about "saving" money by shipping by EMS because the post office around these parts loses/breaks things so i find it more economically feasible to pay extra for Fed Ex everywhere I shop.

That's what I was saying. It's as far along as the VF-4 was by this point. I would wager a New Years release.

My CF has been living with Gerwalk. Despite being told it's easy to figure out I still haven't been able to pinpoint where the screws are holding on all of these exploding black triangles.

I can't wait to see this thing done. Addict is right though, I noticed that backpack hinge and winced. Even with my "brilliant" idea I'm not sure how one would keep those areas from being destroyed at every transformation but perhaps you're a far smarter chap than I. -
Wow, they're practically giving away the 19S!

The super parts are due at the end of this month too. I wonder if it'll be a HUGE flop because pissed off people (with good reason) cancelled pre-orders.

As far as we can tell it's pure speculation right now. Given how popular Ozma is it's a guarantee at some point. I would think that in terms of a Michael re-release it would only happen if they decided to do Tornado parts and likely they would bundle a Michael re-release with it. But maybe I'm just blowing smoke out of my butt. I really don't know how this stuff works.

Your pics plus weathering almost make me want a Vf-27 MacrossJunkie, and I don't even like the 27.

You know, the bit about the sealing plate on the wings causing that "wing sweep" marking might actually help you mask area's where the paint could chip or scratch. If you're going for realism and a marked up bird anyway you might as well extrapolate that "realism" to some of the more fantastical parts. It would make sense a Valk that has gone through many transformations is going to have other parts rubbed going back and forth between modes. Why not include that detail as well, then transforming might not be as much of a problem. -
Maybe the Sheryl figure is a hint they've got one of their perv-dolls of her coming?
-
That 19 would be bad-ass but... the molds for the VF-19 are that damn glossy plastic and this thing would look so much better matte. Modifying the wings to include hard points so we could loud out our 19's would be cool too. Which old molds are you referring to? Reivaj didn't mention anything about Arcadia using an old mold for anything.

This is not proper folding?
