That's not verification the 19 will be made to order but it's an indication as such. It's a tough call, I was okay having multiple VF-4's because the scheme was generic enough to be any old squadron. But the color of Isamu's 19 is pretty distinct (and I'm also not a HUGE fan of it, I just happen to really love the YF-19 aesthetic.)

Supposedly Fed Ex says it'll arrive here Thursday.

I wonder if including all of the extra accessories will wind up being a problem or if subsequent releases will forgo the additional stuff for a cheaper package.

Sounds like I may be on deck for photos this time. Hopefully my CF has held up. It's been hanging in Gerwalk mode for the past several months.

My Armor parts have shipped as well. We'll see how long it takes for Fed Ex to arrive.

It sucks for the many people who can't afford one but anybody who was expecting it to be anything less than 300 really needs to get a grip on reality.
-
Damn, I was wrong too.
-
I'm thinking I'll need two, the display one and the one to beat the hell out of playing with.
-
The adapter is arm specific? I guess I just assumed it could fit on either side like other super parts on other Valks work. I wouldn't worry about making one for the left arm if it's that much trouble.
-
I want two, one for each arm. Then I can loud out the V2 with missiles, etc... and have a super heavily armed Gerwalk.

And suddenly on second viewing I was completely wrong about what you're talking about. Even still, that part of the VF-19 is thicker as well. Once again, not as obvious because of color and because the wing root blocks it. Kind of a bummer but you might be able to shave that part down. Not sure if it would potentially make the transformation dangerous though.
-
Seriously, in person I don't believe it will be that bad. If you look at the VF-19 from head on the under fuselage flows perfectly. There's zero waddle hanging down at all. This is purely a play of light. It has to be a bit thicker for bits of the transformation to work but it still flows. You're seeing contrast at work because it's not being shielded from the light like the VF-19. Compare V1 to V2... V1 has a HUGE gullet. This is just the exposed lower fuselage with some contrast. It'll work out. Though I'm pretty sure filing it down will absolutely not work, for the said reason from head on the fuselage already flows in one perfect motion.

That same bump exists on the VF-19 series as well. You just can't see it as easily because of the colors those fighters are painted. The only reason why it seems like it protrudes more is because on the VF-19 series the wing root extends along the fuselage all the way to the cockpit whereas it ends further back on the YF-19. That means that portion of the craft isn't going to be shaded, thus you're going to see more of a contrast at that point. The fact we're all worried about it means we'll notice it even more. The intake covers have absolutely nothing to do with that portion of the craft...

I'm telling you guys, 30,000 to 32,000 yen.

I just compared this thing to my VF-19F, the neck thickness looks to be exactly the same from the side profile. On more inspection, because of color, the location/shape of the wingroot and the intakes it slightly exposes more of the belly of the plane. Combine that with the fact it's a prototype and the portion forward of the landing gear is drooping a little I think there's a bit of optical illusion going on. The VF-19 has a bit of a bump in that same location as well.
-
It kinda reminds me of Patlabor actually...

I think for a "perfect transformation" the top cannons would actually be the easiest to implement. The bottom missiles maybe. That cannon on the side of the arm though... It would just have to be severely undersized. Though I suppose if you had an attachment like what Maiden has here you could make the missiles and the side cannon actually partially recess into that connector piece so there would be less to cover... even still you're not shaving much off and things would have to be smaller. Then again worrying about keeping the proportions from that bit of animation wouldn't make much sense anyway. Look how HUGE the uni-boob is in that sequence! There was no attempt at proportion there.

I was going to say, you should put this thing up on Cuuso and see if you can get paid for the design.
-
That is awesome!!! I find it amusing that it has an awful lot of overlap between the VF-1 and the VF-2SS (Leg positioning in fighter mode, mostly.) Oh wow, you have super packs and radomes and armor done for it too! This thing looks like a real bruiser as well. You should make a video of it transforming/moving around, so we can get a better idea how it works.

They could always make it web exclusive however the selling poorly thing is likely their own fault for half-assing this release. Too many people think it isn't really enough of a renewal to care, and who could blame them.

The more I look at it the more I'm thinking I need to track myself down a 30th Anniversary 29.

The 30th Anniversary scheme is already not canonical so all of that other stuff goes out the window.

I think bhchan is suddenly making a run for "master" now.

Wow, what are you going to do with 3 30th Anniversary valks?
