  1. In a vacuum it looks awesome. Stick the new mold next to it and the deficiencies become apparent.
  2. Looks like they based the transformation on some of fan art (or flat-out stole it...) http://beta.robotech.com/community/fan/art/viewfanart.php?id=2438
  3. Actually, it appears this transformation is a combination of the VF-2SS and the unofficial VF-4 transformation seen in that Macross 2 video game (that I cannot recall, or find the name for) that essentially mimed the look of the VF-1... for Battroid anyway. I don't think it looks fantastic, but they're working with the prototype style which rounds out everything in odd ways the more boxy VF-4 in the Mac2 did not which made it resemble the VF-1 a lot more. They could have done a lot worse then they did. I don't think the pose of battroid mode is very flattering.
  4. Nah man, I liked the look of the Tan CF based on the pics from the Master File books which don't have those stripes. I think my 25's look fine without them.
  5. My pair of 25A's showed up yesterday evening. It's pretty much the color I expected and wanted it to be. I'm not sure where that green color is coming from in other photos but considering my house is fully lit with either incandescent or natural light I may never experience that additional green shade. It's pretty cool looking, it looks better than the other four 25's in every mode IMO. The crotch pieces on both seem to be nice and tight, however the nose cone on my second valk is extremely loose and doesn't really want to sit flush in fighter/gerwalk. That's a bit frustrating, I may make it the designated CF Battroid one, though I have such a hard time transforming these things to battroid I'm worried the first one doesn't already have chipped paint from the portion you have to stuff under the chest piece (my RVF-25 is already messed up because of that.)
  6. I'm with you Graham, I really liked that prototype color.
  7. Hmm, I like it with the Tornado Wings but regular armor parts without the Cannons.
  8. First one, hate. Second one... what I was expecting. Hmm.
  9. Really? It's more green? Dammit.
  10. It's a bit of a painful wait for us, but probably a solid plan after they flooded the market with various toys the past few years.
  11. Yeah, it seems like the correct tan color right now. I'm not sure making it lighter is a good idea. Now maybe someone could float that idea to Bandai as the tan color on their Isamu YF-29 doesn't look nearly as good as a lighter white does.
  12. I'd take a white and green RVF-171, but I wouldn't pre-order one this time.
  13. I hate to break this to you Astro but if you multiplied $300 by 4 you'd only be playing $1200 per "wonder." A car here in the states is more like $20,000+ (and $20,000 is for a cheap one.) Hmm, on second read I think I misunderstood you. It's $1200 for a car in Argentina?
  14. Who doesn't know Heart & Soul isn't a "real" song?
  15. I don't believe so. Since you only ever once, in Empire, saw Vader become pissed and NOT choke somebody to death it really only highlighted that the Emperor was going to kill anyone he wasn't happy with.
  16. Gerwalk Love!
  17. Hmm, well, it appears my package just kinda sat around in Japan Friday/Saturday/Sunday and most of Monday. That kind of pisses me off.
  18. I thought it was turn of the millennium. Whoops. But it serves my case even better.
  19. Actually, of all the Macross things not rolled into Robotech the YF-19 is pretty well known and popular among Robotech fans as well. They may not be Macross converts but there are a lot of those people who at least crossed over to see what Macross Plus was about and dig the 19. I'd be interested in seeing these sales numbers. I'd be willing to bet there's a lot more international sales for this release. My buddy Kev isn't a Macross fan at all, he calls everything on my shelf "Veritech", but he's seen the pics and if he had the money he'd drop it on one of these YF-19's as well. He doesn't care about the VF-4, 17, 19, 25, etc... even if he thinks they're kinda cool looking but he most definitely knows the YF-19 and Isamu and that's true of every Robotech fan I know.
  20. I don't know man, spark plugs and oil changes in Supra's are a hell of a lot cheaper.
  21. The one's complaining Arcadia are getting greedy, have you ever run a business that creates and sells highly engineered... well, anything? Do you know what the actual costs are? Some of you seem to think you know what these toys should be priced at but I'm waiting for the all encompassing explanation how and why a business could and should be charging less. Just the opinion, "it should be cheaper" means nothing. It's what they deemed the market could bare and what they could make a profit at. If they couldn't make a profit or the market couldn't bare it they wouldn't make it at all. You wouldn't have anything to complain about then, but then again you wouldn't have anything to buy either and that would be it. And, really, I think they did hear that the VF-4 was too expensive. People thought it was cool (and it is, I'm glad I have my two) but that it was a lot of money for just a Valk. So they can't really charge less for such fancy pieces of engineering. What to do then? Well, charge the same as the VF-4 but include a whole wealth of extras as incentive.
  22. The YF-25 looks just like the VF-25 but it has a different paint scheme. The YF-24 would require a bit of mold changing in spots.
  23. Timing is a bit of a problem again. I'd be interested but I won't find out if I'm furloughed until the 21st...
  24. Glow in the dark bits might look cool, though I think one of the biggest problems is with the design itself. It's too busy a design.
