Well if you zoom in and look at the Gerwalk image in the background, other than adding a bit of a lip on the foot to block the joint it pretty much looks like the exact same ankle (provided that hasn't been changed along with anything else since those pics were taken.)
-
Thanks. Good to know I can wait a few more weeks to pay for those then.
-
I still want to know if the ankles have been improved.

I'm wondering when we'll start to see some pics of the CF's. Mine only just shipped this morning so I won't see them until the middle of next week most likely. Oh, quick question, does anybody know if the Super Parts for the 25G are still held up until the very end of the month?
-
You are going to piss off so many people...

What's with the face? $141 for any 25 V.2 is damn good.

DAAAAAAAAAAMN! That's the one I wanted when I took my Double Nuts out of the package and was immediately disappointed. They had it in Fighter for a bit, and now Battroid. I wonder if they'll get around to posing it in Gerwalk at some point as well? Maybe putting it back into Fighter but with the Super Packs and/or missiles attached? Or putting the super packs on Battroid eventually just to keep showing off aspects of this things perpetual awesome. Quick favor, can anybody who speaks Japanese ask Mr. K if the ankles on the YF-19 are different from the VF-19 release? I'd do a website translation but I have no idea if it would come out as gibberish or not.
-
Hey, I'm inclined to believe the TWO GUYS HERE WHO CAN ACTUALLY READ JAPANESE.

For the mold: we have 1/60 VF-1 series and Macross7 series in the company. Also we have Macross Ship (so they say.. ;; I'll delete this post if I get yelled at..)Does that mean no VF-4???
-
It really isn't relevant. Saying they may miss their ship date isn't anything like waiting years (we only backed this a few months ago) and they aren't saying they can't produce any of the things they said they would.

First, for the topic. I've noticed a few times the torso isn't dark like in the lineart... but that's honestly completely impossible to do on a transforming toy. I'm not sure a clip on would really make it look any better. As far as that lip on the intake is concerned I understand what the problem is and I even agree to a certain extent but it's already set in stone and this YF-19 is TONS better than the old one. I'm going to choose to be happy about it. I don't think, for me personally, it's going to be much of a bother once the whole thing is assembled but I'm not going to sit and stare at that part in all of the photos either. Obsessing never helps. On the other hand some of those-head on pics look PERFECT with the intake the way it is (or so good I don't care.) One idea I had to fixing it, and there may be zero space to do this, would be to have a little portion of plastic recessed into the upper intake you can pull down with a tab... but that could have other catastrophic effects and not look good either. Just another concept to throw in there though. Second, we don't really know how they define the "molds." Like, is there really much of a difference between the VF-19F/S/P/Kai to warrant calling it more than one mold? Or the 21/22? I still believe this "rare" craft is the 0D. It's been hinted at by both insiders on this message board, teased in early YF-19 pics by Mr. K and Mr. K himself admitted it's one he's wanted to make.

I was thinking because the underside of the upper intake is rounded upward that extending the lower intake would actually affect the way it transforms and is shaped, it would have to curve upward. But the addition of the wonky pointed hips in Battroid is also a good point. I think that thick lip isn't going to be as much of an issue once we see the toy fully assembled without all of the looseness. It looks to me like the lower and upper intakes meet together at a very specific point and would line up perfectly on a non-loose toy. Extending that lip would affect that and I think it would hurt the look more.

But there is a chance of a Ravens VF-X scheme, which is pretty cool for those of us who want different paint schemes.
-
I'll third it, I really like the tone and shade of blue they have on the canopy now. I've said from the start the reason that intake lip is so thick is because of the leg rotating gimmick. mechanic, can you photoshop well enough to modify a pic and show us what you think they should have done? I'm not so sure your idea would result in the lines working out either but that's just going off an image in my head. Considering both Yamato and Bandai (and now Arcadia) have settled on the side of a lighter shade then what looked to be shown in most episodes the brown on the gunpod seems just like how they would color any other Valk/Accessory based on the past. Often times none of us have agreed with it, even when Kawamori has personally weighed in, but it seems consistent with how all parties have been operating recently. Good example's of the insides of the 19 being blueish in tone, which is what I always thought they were. Grey and tan would be monotone, and it doesn't provide any contrast when the super parts are attached.
-
I guess this one is going to be a World Wide type phenomena then? Or, I guess I should say that Isamu would be a world wide phenomena. I'm not sure this same mold in a different scheme would work out.
-
I wonder how many that is total, and where in the world all of these things are selling (and if they can even tell since we foreigners order from other shops like hlj.)
-
To be honest I wasn't worried about it. I think these new, big missiles are comically large.

I have always loved how this thing looks in Gerwalk.

Well I went ahead and paid for my two now while I'm still getting a paycheck. In two weeks this may come back to bite me in the ass though.

even if it is... when are we supposed to pay?

I haven't got one from them either.

1/48+fp's, 1/60+fp's, 1/72, 1/2k, 1/3k,1/100 and now 1/144

I think in terms of showing off the toys it all looks really cool and it's interesting. But in an attempt to make it look "real" there will need to be some additional things. -
Seems like they did it just to match the bright fold crystals.

I think the second SDF-1 shot makes the most sense (it looks a lot like a scene from the movie really) because you have those bits of glow in the dark on it. It's the least "flat" looking because while it's dim there's some realistic bits that are glowing. It would be better with some glow from engines though. The other two pictures came out good but because there's absolutely no other lighting coming from them they just look dim and flat.
