Mommar replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Toys
I've been saying since the Renewals came out that Arcadia (then Yamato) needed to take some lessons on the ankles from Bandai. Then the 19 wouldn't suck so hard in Gerwalk. The trick to getting a deeper stance with the Bandai valks is to actually rotate the ball joint left and right, then you can still bend the foot forward/back and get deeper stances. Hopefully that's not damaging anything in the process but it's worked for me so far. -
For modified versions of the VF-1, yes they are very cool looking. And, oddly, in battroid it happens to resemble a cross between the VF-0 and the 2SS of all things.

I don't care for the box, I think the older Yamato boxes looked better. In the end it doesn't matter to me though, I just throw the thing away anyway.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
Mommar replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So I downloaded the new Zelda for the 3DS this morning before heading off to work. I haven't had a chance to really play it at all but I must say that the choice to make it run at 60fps feels REALLY good.- 6756 replies

I like the way you think. Those two pics, while interesting and cool looking, are fan-made tweaks/designs and not actual valks.

I've heard they can be a bit fragile. I was interested in their Anime-Inspired Batman but they seem to have some issues with breakage.

Mr. K already said that Frontier was possible but not interesting. I'm going to speculate, I'll say either the VF-5000 or 14.
-
The only few likely places they could have a break are the new wings (which I've warned about before) or the new hip area.

Actually, all it says is that they wanted a different angle for Isamu to be looking up at the plane and showing his reflection doing that was the direction they went. Doesn't mean the toy needs to be shined to a glow. Besides, if it were represented exactly like this in every scene from the show anytime there were sunlight there would just be a bright blot wherever the YF-19 was because it would be reflecting that much light all the time. Not exactly a prototype plane look (or any plane.)

I'm not sure that will be the case, but for your sake I hope so.

Thanks for listening. It's been a tough sell to most people I usually know because it skews into the "cheesy" and EDM territory. I have always found Willy Wonka to be disturbing personally.

Also who hate fingerprints and ugly and the bitch it is to decal something shiny...

I thought Mr. K had mentioned consulting with Kawamori was too expensive and he was going to have to go it alone for this release? Maybe the pre-orders pushed Arcadia to decide to consult?

Prominent video game exposure counts as well, which the VF-4 got.

Would anybody really want it if it weren't featured in another product?

I'd wait for everybody else on the forums to take something from his house and hold each one of them up as they leave.

I might as well go for some more shameless self-promotion. https://soundcloud.com/jdcb-1/workout-mix

Actually, I asked that before all of the pictures went up with the glossy prototypes. Or, before I saw them anyway. I had forgot I asked the question directly on twitter to be honest.

It looks like I'll have to try this on my G too. Bandai can't seem to engineer these things for longevity can they?
-
Nice save on those other test pics guys. Thanks for putting all of us panic-prone people back on course.

That was one of my main reasons for not wanting to include High-Speed mode, it creates a new point that can break (and it's an ugly mode that I won't use, ever, anyway.)

Really, they're speculating about a prequel now? I hate prequels, just let it be done with.

I kinda want to see more Paul McGann Doctor now. He was still charming and quip-y but with more calm, reason and gravitas then the younger, bombastic one's we've had (in six minutes.) Then again Peter Capaldi can do that too.
