Who dares post these photos on Mr. K's twitter with the note "Hint, hint?" Because I've debated doing that a few times with that model of the VF-4 painted up in Max's 1J scheme from the modelling thread.

This is the first time they've ever really done "slews" of paint jobs. It's kind of hard to tell what they will do to me.
-
How much worse could it get?

Aren't the glossy valks harder to keep paint adherence?

Wow, painting that must have been tough!

My house is considered a rural residence by my local post office. It is big-time residential to DHL.
-
The difference in size and weight might make a big difference. I just bought a 1/60 Fast Pack set off of Mandarake and DHL and EMS were both exactly 3200 yen.
-
The thing is this thing is already based off of the VF-19 design and that fighter mode IS sleek.
-
I was just thinking about this. If Kawamori liked the Yammie VF-19 so much the Kai version essentially became the official line-art who's to say Kawamori isn't going to see this thing work and decide the same thing?
-
The last thing I ordered from Mandarake was an extra set of Fast Packs for my Max 1A (Sunday) and the cost of EMS and DHL was exactly the same. Also, DHL arrived yesterday. Maybe for something larger like a 1/48 the price changes but for smaller packages that does not appear to be the case.
-
Why only use DHL if you have a business address?

No, it's there because the legs aren't actually in the correct alignment and the swoop in the body is practically non-existent. Plus there's the gullet and the fact the entire cockpit/nose section is pushed up instead of swooping back down. Honestly, while this YF-19 looks good it's still a bit of an oddity because it has it's roots in the M7 version which is different in a lot more ways and it's been retooled to fit the YF-19 look instead. That top down shows how much more wide and squat the body is, but that lineart is kind of ridiculous with the tiny shield tucked in the back. In Battroid it would look comically small. If you compare the side-view shot with the new loaded down one of the undercarriage you'll see just how much of an optical illusion that black side-gap is as well. It's barely noticeable from the side. Unless you're posing the new 19 in a way that you see it completely from the top-down how is it an issue?

Well, most of this design is based off of the Yammie VF-19's. Unless they've made some changes to the ankles and to the upper thigh joint (which we have no indication of), no, the Gerwalk was extremely limited on the VF-19 and this one looks to follow unfortunately. Plenty of people here are beyond tired of my tirades about the Gerwalk mode, and disagree, but we can all agree that there's no way in hell the VF-19's are anywhere near close to the dynamic poses any of the Frontier valks can achieve.

Love it with the full load out. I do think it would look better if the shade of the green were a tad darker but I'm really veering into begging/choosing territory with that. Only thing I don't understand is why they didn't color the knee covers the same as the rest of the tan plane. But I guess from a certain perspective it looks like a black band angled instead.
-
The Max 1S was never that popular anyway. Only once it was way out of print and it didn't look like more VF-1's would be released did it become "popular."
-
Holy crap, a lap full!!! I wonder how they're going to change the color more? Also... it's getting close to finally being here!!!! There does appear to be a bit of gloss on that thing though.

I've actually been wanting to get an extra max 1A and set of GBP armor to make just such a custom. Now that I think about it there's also a pic in the Masterfile book that shows a white 1J head with a Blue stripe that would look good with the Grey and blue armor as well. It would make photo shopping that b&w pic even easier.

Yamato VF-1A trainer colours Unassembled Kit Build
Mommar replied to nobbyxr8's topic in The Workshop!
I understand. I can't find one at $50 to say nothing of three. -
Dunno, as I was very happy with the way the colors already were it's more likely they'll be less satisfactory.

Yamato VF-1A trainer colours Unassembled Kit Build

Wow, where did you find 3 of them for $50??? -
Or Kristanna Loken will show up and jam a VF-1 into somebodies forehead.
-
I thought Hi-Metals felt fine. They just had too many part-swapping bits and I had problems with the proportions in some modes. The VF-1's in particular are rather fun to pose in Battroid mode.

It actually comes with three of those stands.

How is something fan-made setting a bar low? Experten had better stop those silly little Macross toys of theirs otherwise we won't be able to spot the mediocre Bandai and Arcadia stuff? Really? I think you're doing just the opposite, it gets zero pass from you specifically because you don't like the name. There is a difference between a "critique" and saying "this is a piece of crap." You've only insulted what they've done. And if it is the case it's critique then everyone was merely critiquing your posts. As a matter of fact they have judged you by your work. The very little bit of work you've put into complaining about a free video you don't have to watch. I have a laundry list of things wrong with these videos too. I did state I think the VF-1 model used is a mistake. I'll tell you right now that referencing Eve seems like a big issue, but then I've never been big on techno-mysticism type stuff (perhaps they will surprise me.) Setting it in Argentina seems a bit silly but whatever, it's not like we haven't been highly American-centric with our entertainment and nobody here, or in Japan with Macross, have come closer to doing something like this live. In the end it doesn't matter. They're having a bit of fun and not selling me anything, I lose nothing for appreciating what effort they have put in.

Why are you trying so hard to hate on something that's FAN MADE? As a matter of fact I think I'll direct you to the readers digest version of what Exo told you in The Walking Dead thread. Don't like it? Leave.
