I've been trying to study that CAD image to see what changes there may or may not be. I can't make out if the shoulder transformation is any different/better then the old VF-0/1. Looks like the bumps for the fuel cells still peg in with two holes just like the old 0's. There's no little tab to hold the backpack up, unlike the VF-1, and just like the old VF-0. I wonder if there's a new mechanism or if they're sticking with friction.

If you squint it says 1/72 MDE, so it looks like additional parts for 1/72 VF-25 kits.

Just tweeted him... in English. "Why not 1/3000 SDFM instead?" with a pic. His foreign fans need to let him know a lot of us we're more familiar with and want the TV version.
-
I'm sorry but I think Arcadia, and Yamato before them, don't seem to realize that while the DYRL version of the SDF-1 is more popular in Japan the rest of the world is far more familiar with, and wants, a SDFM version in 1/3000 scale. I'm sure some fans in Japan will buy them too. This? Not interested.

But you guys really need to understand this is barely a prototype. This is a CAD drawing. Not the final design,it's the first one. A rough up. Shape, size, color. It's not the final decision on anything and it isn't intended to be . Flipping out on something like the color now is silly. They'll get around to nailing down the color around the same time they've done it for the YF-19, i.e. January of 2015.

It's a render people, get over it.

I think that first 1A is really cool looking. The second, that apes the "the first" style, is a very interesting idea but I feel copying The First is always a failure. There's just too much Yellow on the back of it in fighter mode. If you had kept a thin strip along the part that becomes the chest and left the back half as black with black stripes I feel like it would have been a home run. But then, I've always felt the The First style paint scheme was too messy personally.

Man, I love that thing loaded down with the missiles. So awesome.

Wow, will they actually get the wings to fold up that high as well?

Have you collected the right valk to get final satisfaction?
Mommar replied to VALKYRIE ACE PILOT's topic in Toys
From a certain point of view the "holy grail" would be the most perfect rendition/transformation/etc... of your favorite valk. In that instance, none will ever remain as the holy grail unless they stop being produced altogether. -

I have the Max 1J and 1A from SDFM, those were always my Holy Grails and I'm happy I have them now. I just happen to have very broad tastes and appreciate almost all of the Valk designs for one reason or another. To be honest, my holy grail is a Perfect Transformation SDFM SDF-1. I don't have one of those. -
Doesn't Chthonic have one of every model?

As an addendum I just had one of the triangles break on my 171 CF last night... first Valk breakage ever, thanks Bandai.

That's why I keep it in Figher/Gerwalk. I think it's the worst looking Battroid, after the F, which I also only keep in Fighter/Gerwalk. Only the RVF and A/G ever go into full Battroid because they're the only heads I care for. This Ozma 29 may suffer the same fate as the 25 if I don't like the way the head looks after I have it.
-
What's funny is the reason why I'd want a third one is so I could specifically pose it in Gerwalk.

So here's the thing about this whole situation. They usually only choose one out of the collection of items to be made. They'll weigh marketability, including size, and no doubt what sorts of licensing issues will be involved. No doubt they'll come across the issue between Macross and Robotech and deem it too problematic and too small a market to go through the hassle. If I'm wrong we're all blessed for it, but I'm pretty sure it's not happening.

I guess it kind of makes me sound like a douche saying this but I already have a 25S and I think the 29's paint scheme/style look way better than the 25S I already have.
-
I'd love a third VF-4 but, even though I think it's Yamato's best engineered Valk I really wouldn't spend $500+ unless you were truly a die-hard VF-4 fan.

Dang, the price is really climbing at NY.

To be honest that's a new trend from one person in particular. People aren't usually in each others face about what they buy around here.

I paid 25,180 yen back in 2012 for mine. Here, the conversion for $259.97 comes out to 26,360.99 yen today. I don't know where you dug up the $339.32 number from but you're wrong both on what it originally cost and that it's cheaper now.

Macross related items on WonderFestival 2014 Winter (JAPAN)
Mommar replied to ahiachris's topic in Model kits
There's ways to fudge it on the VF-19 series but I think they already made the decision to skip over those parts. Leg packs might not fit either. This paint scheme is far more interesting to me, however, with hard points for the wings too (which will never happen.) -
