Naked the VF-25 in Gerwalk is super poseable, one of the best of all Macross toys. With Super Packs/Armor Gerwalk becomes useless. The shoulders are completely blocked and you can barely do anything with the arms.

If you can get the light to look right that would be really cool. Slightly off topic, where does that photo come from?

I find it amusing you're wondering if anyone can justify paying $300 for a 0D or the VF-4 yet you're buying three $300 YF-19's. Could have had one of each for the same dough.

LMAO, I totally forgot about that song.

Looking at the top of the wing in this photo here it appears there's room for the wings to sit on a pylon which can be pushed up in the back further after folding down. It's not a giant distance, the wing still hangs down to just below the knee but it would give a bit of clearance to the thigh.
-
I can think of some overly complicated ways the wings could fold onto themselves but it wouldn't be worth the extra expense.

We'll call that the "After Spacewar I" version.

I'm not saying Arcadia shouldn't do new things, I'm saying doing a bunch of new things poorly doesn't net you anything in the long run. They're not proven, so less likely to be adopted by others. Maybe Mr. K is taking notes however. The articulation in the hips is a giant improvement over the Yamcadias. In the feet as well... though they can get loose. Having to perform a "trick" to make something work is not an acceptable solution. I'd rather they figure out how to fix the design.

But here's the thing we all have great ideas, but how many of them are implemented in any sort of good way? We all want everything on this kit, but it had better not be a wonky, fidgety, difficult mess to use. And this kit is all of things and more. so good on them for implementing a bunch of new stuff... poorly.
-
As it stands, the old VF-0 and 1 both have zero room for the wings to push up anymore. How are the wings on the Bandai Kit mounted so there's any additional room for them to slide up?

Other then the fact that my parents knew my brother and I liked transformable toys, as such we wound up with one three inch figure when we were kids, I never really knew what Orguss was and still don't really understand.

That's precisely how it looks in the Master File too.

Since my last post to Mr K was confusing would anyone who knows Japanese care to ask if they're going to take care to improve/increase poseability in the hips over the previous VF-0 and the VF-1?
-
Dunno why I didn't find my way back to this thread until now. Possibly because I didn't want to see something so awesome that I can't own myself. LOL

Just looking at the Hi-Metal thread a moment ago I do hope Arcadia has come up with some ways to open up the hips/articulation in the legs on this thing. Since the VF-0 and 1 are pretty much exactly the same in that regards the Hi-Metal threaded reminded me that while I love the Yamato stuff the Battroid mode on the Hi-Metals is still more poseable/fun. It would be nice if Arcadia could work some of that additional poseability in to this new mold.
-
Look how skinny those legs had to be.

Unless you want to pose something in Gerwalk... then it's just a brick that is impeded everywhere.

I don't like Mac Zero at all but I like the 0D/S/A/whatever.

I'd like to say I'll be done after this one but the YF-30, I think, will wind up being a pretty rare fighter in the end. I don't think in ten years anybody will be dying to make a Valk that only appeared in a video game unless it winds up cropping up in other things since.
-
Ah, I didn't catch that one. Thanks. It's pretty close to the second one. I wonder if they'll actually try to sneak in a fourth that absolutely won't work in anything other than fighter on the extreme inside too. It would look very cool to have a fully loaded 0D like in that Master File photo.
-
I wonder how many hard points are on this thing? The Master File is pretty loaded out with four per wing. The CAD here only looks like they have room for two... possibly a third.
-
Dude, you've opened a real can of worms here. I'm willing to bet there's going to be a huge rush for these things.

The D was SUPER tight compared to my S. Though I do have a bit of that floppy right arm syndrome Alduin mentioned.

Bummer, only twelve total? Too bad there isn't an easier way for you to manufacture those things but I understand why you wouldn't want to make a thousand by hand.

Does Bandai even have a presence at Wonderfest? They do their own thing don't they?
