The angled gunpod is a design flaw. All of the VF-19's have it too.

Looks like customs in LA is taking their typical sweet-ass time as well.

On the old VF-19 releases if you pushed the ankles back too far they would forever be a floppy mess that would no longer hold either Gerwalk or Battroid. Technically this was a problem on the VF-17 as well but it's far more balanced in Gerwalk so stressing the ankles too far one direction or another wasn't really a problem. The VF, and now the YF-19, are all EXTREMELY forward heavy in Gerwalk.

Boy, look at all of those box art pics with that clearly advertised, grey gunpod. Does the gunpod collapse for storage the same way as the 19S/F/P in fighter mode?

That officially means the VF-4 is the best Macross toy by Yamcadia then.

I was afraid of both of these things when we found out what the wing gimmick was to accommodate high speed mode.

But the missiles look cool and you can choose to leave them on or off if you like. The Grey lines aren't necessary, break up the flow of the design, and wouldn't be remove-able to anyone who doesn't like it (not without a ton of effort and potential damage.) Looking over other photos people have taken of this thing I noticed in one other pic a minor blemish on that right side but it isn't nearly as big as that first paint scratch pic. It looks like you might be able to avoid that damage if you transform the toy in a particular way but we might need to come up with our own solution to fix it unfortunately.

Now we all know, don't tilt the cockpit section all the way back when transforming. Sucks to be that guy who first found out but we're benefiting from seeing these pics. Also something I imagine really tricky to debug for the guys who designed this thing. They know exactly how they intended to transform it and probably didn't even consider if the angle were slightly different would it cause friction like that.

The VF-19 didn't have that, why would this one?

Yes, I am still wondering about this as well. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who is an "ankle skeptic" like myself.

In those photos the new 19 looks pretty damn good next to the 11B and 21. Also, I can't wait for some of our other members to get theirs so they'll take some decent pictures from different, dynamic angles instead of all of these useless 2/3 top-down pics we keep getting.

Didn't somebody on this messageboard rub the marking off of their VF-4? It's a bit odd, I guess they just print it in black and don't think about how it works. The VF-19S and F both have it in black but on the blue you can barely see it. The VF-17S and D both have it in black and it's practically invisible being black on black. The VF-19P and VF-4G it sticks out like a sore thumb because it's black on a very light color. Why not print it in the same color a shade lighter then the surface it will be applied to? That way it's there but hardly shows up at all.

They don't have those parts on the VF-19 either. But I was still speculating they couldn't have those indents for the same reason, the collapsing of the wing into the root is too tight plus it would show through the wing if they were clear.

Except I pointed out those indents were there back when we originally were discussing the Frontier-style Fast packs months ago. They're on the top and bottom of the wing roots.

I don't recall that. I only recall people didn't like the shade of tan used and they were going to fix that. I didn't realize it meant completely changing the color of the gun pod.

But while everyone complained that the color of the plane/canopy/etc were all not accurate they decided to change the color of the gunpod to be not accurate. I see what you did there Kanedas... it wasn't advertised as having a grey gunpod when the tan one looked excellent.

You're right, they changed the gunpod to grey. That sucks too.

They really lightened up that canopy. What a bummer. It looked so much better with that highly tinted one.

I don't understand this race to the bottom competition people have with how much they paid for this thing? I've got one in the mail, that's all I need.

There were official photos that show the missiles mounted on the VF-1. Short answer, yes.
