If done properly you really can get some great poses from ball joints.
-
It's obvious that skinny joint in the leg makes more room for the additional hidden missile and landing gear. However, the design is awful. In another thread anime52k8 pretty much explained why the Arcadia/Yamato one sucks and it's a relatively simple fix to make them work like the Bandai ankles, which work SO MUCH better.
-
But good for her, huh?
-
Though you do bring up a good point. Until this point every gerwalk had the intakes attached to the body of the plane. If the YF-30 eschews that how are they going to make the legs stable?
-
It's pretty easy. Just place your thumb on top of the fast pack and a finger underneath the shoulder and pinch.
-
I don't see that on the 25G. But the 30 actually does have that piece lowered. The upper half can swivel in Gerwalk as well as in Battroid.
-
For the shoulder you have to take the right angle and just push really hard. The leg packs, I fit the back part of the fast pack first where the largest slot it, press firmly, then move to the smaller middle fin, the the small forward fin. If you press hard it'll hold okay. Still feels flimsy but holds.
-
I don't understand what you mean.
-
I'm impressed you got such decent poses in Gerwalk but it can still stand in Battroid afterward. After posing Gerwalk the same way the ankles are impossible to pose upright in Battroid now on mine. Which part of the Fast Pack are you having trouble getting on?
-
The right hip on my 25G is practically useless now and all of the things I've been told to do to tighten it up haven't worked. As a matter of fact I can't get the screw on it to budge.
-
He has a good point, if you've already done it could you take a few pics for everyone else so we all know what to do to fix our $300+ ankles...
-
If only I could speak Japanese, I'd directly address the issues with those ankles on their twitter/facebook/whatever without any surreptitious nonsense.
-
Can they be tightened up somehow?
-
I'm worried about the ankles. While still considering what to do with this broken 19 I decided to put it in Battroid after doing all of the extreme stuff in Gerwalk. Yeah, those ankles still f**king suck. It can't stand straight up now. If the 0D has some idiot ball joints like this thing it'll suck as well. Somebody with knowledge of Japanese needs to post on the Arcadia feed that the 19's ankles blow and not to screw it up on the 0D as well.

Great pic. I really wish the gunpod were the correct color though, then it would look even better. I see you painted on grey lines.

That is a really cool looking fighter, isn't it?

The one thing I will say about the potential of the 30 versus the 29 is that the 29 was the first of the renewal Valks. The V.2 25 is the product of what they learned, right and wrong, from the 29. The 30 is a follow on from that (I know it transforms different.) So hopefully they've pushed their engineering forward (and they don't take a nose dive like the 171 CF.)

I pulled out one of my VF-19's to compare some of these more thin bits and see if they really are more thin or not. All of the gear bay doors are the same thickness, however I will say that the YF-19's doors don't fit as well as the VF-19 doors do. The only real difference is at the forward section beneath the cockpit. On the VF-19 part of the fuselage extends all the way to beneath the cockpit, so that explains part of it, but even still there's a very thick triangular piece which extends to the interior. On the YF-19 that thin bit is still triangular but not nearly as much. I noticed the VF-19 does fit together better. There's obvious clicks when pushing the nose into position and sliding that piece beneath the cockpit in as well. On the YF-19 it doesn't fit as well and I can't get mine to really click and lock into place like the VF-19 does.

Is there a way to tip antibiotictab because he always provides excellent service.
-
Really? I ordered one Thursday when I thought there would be no chance of getting a replacement if I waited for the crooks to get back to me and I'm STILL waiting for them to ship the damn thing.
-
That's actually one of the reasons why I think it looks so cool. Though I believe the way they have it posed does it no favors.
-
Whoops, didn't edit that out.

Pilots usually have callsigns.

Hmm, well that's different from mine. amiami denied request for a ¥32,310 JPY refund. 4/4/2014 00:37 PDT From Seller - amiami 4/4/2014 00:37 PDT Hello. We're sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our offer for a partial refund. If you would like a refund for the merchandise price (28170 JPY), please return the item to our store. The refund will be processed upon receipt of the returned item. From Seller - amiami 4/4/2014 00:38 PDT We are unfortunately unable to reimburse any return shipping costs. Furthermore, we are unable to process any orders on your account while this dispute is open. We apologize for the inconvenience. I would argue, given the location of the chunk of wing, that it wasn't broken in transit. It's interesting how different each of our responses are. I'm still trying to figure out if Paypal would back me if I pressed for the full ¥32,310 amount. That's a great pic, man. So I got curious about everyone disliking the Fast Packs. I decided to try them out on the broken one just to see. The leg fast packs attache horribly and are designed poorly, I will agree. However, it took me all of two minutes to pop the legs down, attach the leg packs, attach the shoulder pieces and fold it all back up. Other than semi-loose feeling leg packs it holds together great.
