It isn't about him owning it, it's about his work being stolen and blocked from the world by the Executive Producers.

HG are Executive Producers. Why would a guy design new fighters for the same company blocking all of his works from being known across the rest of the world? Getting something made by Kawamori sounds like a great idea, if I were Kawamori I wouldn't do it however. Not without a concession like "Macross can be released in the rest of the world otherwise."

Online exclusive is the solution to that problem. I'd bet there wouldn't be as many Japanese fans but I bet they would net a lot of foreign buyers for the real world schemes. If they announced that as an online exclusive tomorrow I would pre-order the f**k out of it so quick. This brings up a new question for me, would somebody be so kind as to take photos of all of the various liveries from that game?

I was just checking out Banshee's Let's Play for Macross 30 and I've never seen this Livery before but I think it needs to be a thing we can all own.

Buying something just because it might go up in value makes ZERO sense to me. I'm not selling any of my stuff, I bought it because I like it, not because I think it's an investment. It's not like any of these toys are going to net me a Beach House in Hawaii or something.
