  1. You're probably right, but maybe there's a possibility of a web-exclusive? Maybe Arcadia should play with that model, only release the Hero Valks but offer web-exclusive runs to reuse molds and release variants or less popular schemes fans still want. If I could write in Japanese I'd suggest there on their twitter feed. The 0D was supposed to be a general release, no? That means if enough were produced and they're selling well enough any given store could restock if they wanted to. Is this a good sign? Did stores REALLY underbuy thinking it wouldn't sell and it's done so well they're stocking up, or were all of us so hungry for a PT 0D that every old Macross fan came climbing from the wood-work for one? And ostensibly any new Macross fans from Frontier who have played Macross 30 will have been introduced to the 0D from the beginning of the game as well. Perhaps some new fans came out for a purchase too?
  2. Photo's of pre-production models at one trade show does not constitute an announcement for release. Anime52k8 is right. Just because they showed something at a trade show once doesn't mean it's an actual announced product. It's just a potential line they might be working on. If they put up a pre-order somewhere or even if they mention it again in a magazine with prices and release dates then it's "announced." Until then we have zero idea this product will ever actually come to market.
  3. I suppose I meant the lightbulbs and not the lamp. But that pic right there is very aqua, quite a bit closer to the anime.
  4. While the fit of the 171 is better than the 17, those tight tolerances and the odd decisions for transformation mechanisms make playing with it a lot less fun. The Yammie is orders of magnitude easier to transform. That being said, the design of the 17/171 all around isn't the most satisfying transformation in general.
  5. Wait a moment, while some HI-Metal stuff was shown off I don't believe Bandai has officially announced any of that stuff will be produced/sold.
  6. What kind of light do you have that thing under? That really looks a lot closer to the show there...
  7. Man, those comparison pics show off just how many of the things have been subtly altered but how much better they look in the overall package because of it.

    Yamato VF-19P

Because nobody likes the shoulder speakers.
  9. YF-19 Double Nuts for me. If it weren't for the paint scheme I would get rid of it. It was a disappointment in feel, fit and shape from the moment I touched it inside the packaging. The plastic feels cheaper than the old exploding Zero's do.

Get the P, and get it with tracking.
  11. Wasn't Nora's more floppy than the other two later releases though?

Just trying to temper all of the Bandai love, they were alright as Battroid Action Figures. They're not replacements for or in any way an upgrade to the larger 1/60 toys. And they most certainly will not TOP those toys, even if they did do some of it better.
  13. But that's based on the old Max/Millia (not villains) Quedluun Rau's, or a $400 build-it-yourself Regult Kit. People actually like the way the SV-51 looks and think that Nora and Ivanov are more interesting characters.
  14. You do realize those shoulder packs are just from the Frontier 19 right?

I didn't say I didn't like them, I said they aren't some magical, holy-grail fix people seem keep commenting they will be. Besides, they still had Destroids and Battlepods on on display as well and I want to see what they will be like.
  16. It comes with plenty of 305 modex numbers. Just not in white. Black and low vis Grey only.
  17. Nah, David's pretty on point again. I liked having the additional ordinance with the 19 so I could load it up with whatever I wanted. This one has three hard points as well, give me enough missiles to customize the look as well.
  18. you pretty much covered everything I would have said about it.... except for not highlighting the crap ball-joint ankles which will go limp.

I never transform them. I put them into Battroid, didn't like how fidgety they were or the proportions in the other two modes, and left them in Battroid.
  20. I don't recall much of either of my VF-4's being THAT tight. The one caveat being the small metal hinges for the arms, which were absolutely frighting to pull down on. This thing is pretty alarmingly tight IMO, I thought I was going to break it. You just have to work the legs to the sides a bit and remember that there are two pegs. One for the backpack and one further down attached to the arms. Just make sure you detach one but not the other before cranking down on the Gerwalk joint.
  21. Oh wow, the old-school prototype huh? Non-TF or are you going to attempt to take the plunge on something there? Also, I just noticed you have a totally awesome pic of the VF-4 spamming missiles as your photo. Where can I see a larger version of that?
  22. Man, this thing is TIGHT. I was afraid something was going to snap just separating the legs from the backpack/arms. And again, swinging the left arm around from Fighter mode. Talk about effort. Part of the issue is that the chest piece isn't as wide as on the old VF-0's so that rotating shoulder piece is shorter. It's harder to get leverage on it to rotate. Also, I braved transformation without removing the various stabilizer bits. It's not as hard as it seems, really. Especially once you get it loosened a bit. Still be careful if you do, a slipped hand and you're snapping a peg off.

I don't really understand why everybody is cheering for this. We've already had Hi-Metal VF-1's. We know they're tiny, fiddly and have a bunch of parts to swap out that can be easily lost. They were pretty inconvenient all around, even if once you have Battroid mode assembled it's fun to pose.
