Because despite Mr. March's great work he isn't the absolute production authority on the matter. He recolors those pictures themselves and unless he has reference material that shows the fins as blue he could have used the cover of the Hasegawa kit, etc... which is done gray.
-
What the hell are you talking about? There are photos from the animation here that show the fins blue.
-
Was the rest of the body in contention? I think it's only the bits of blue people were fussing about wasn't it? Truly a hard thing to determine. That scene with the smashed up 0A falling totally looks like blue fins, but not the back of the leg, but other scenes it could be grey... or blue that's shaded. So hard to tell without production notes. What if we grabbed somebody like Gubaba or Seto or Renato from the other threads? I don't think any of them collect figures but they're BIG into all the niche aspects of the show. Renato in particular seems to have info on production details. Maybe one of them could clarify? How about comparing the one drone that has the grey/blue colors from te beginning of the dogfighting to the tail of the 0A, would that give us another way to compare the color?
-
I went back and watched Episode 5, are we sure they've actually changed up the colors? It looks much closer to the OVA than the old 0A does actually.

I would definitely go for Mei Leelong's if it got made.

I am not so sure about that. If you look on pages 96 and 97 in the VF-19 Master File book the boosters are clearly attached to pylons that angle in towards the central part of the fighter that become the Torso/head area. There's no indication they attach to the shoulders in the same manner at all. If anything it would make more sense (and look better... minus Gerwalk, then again it's the 19) that those pylons would rotate about and fit the boosters flat against the 19's back in Battroid. And on the later 19 models there are actually flaps that cover the gap between the head and shield that fold down in Battroid, where the pylons could attach, and rotate down behind the shoulders instead of stuck out at the ends of the shoulder pads like the atmospheric parts from M7 do.

To be fair while the Bandai toy's implementation is different from the Arcadia/T-Rex parts it wouldn't lend itself to being fuel tanks either since it snaps into two pieces in Gerwalk and Battroid when the shoulders adjust themselves. I really think the T-Rex interpretation makes more sense as in the animation they look a hell of a lot like the 25 shoulder missile packs. They're already bolting the 25's boosters on, why not bolt the shoulder armor as well? Even if they are covering up the intakes and additional fuel really does make sense, unless they're jettisoned the first time the 19 transforms, it makes far more sense that they adjust themselves in a manner exactly like the 25's shoulder packs for the reasons I stated above. After watching the animation again I think the Bandai versions are way too small. T-Rex's parts look more in line to me.

Umm, aren't these of the same toy? I don't recall there being a fold booster for the new version.

Lucas has said he doesn't want to give input. He wants to be able to see the films as a fan.

Man, I just couldn't buy Luke. His face looks TERRIBLE IMO. Figuarts seems to have trouble with faces that aren't anime or robotic... well, the Stromtrooper is an oddity too as it's too fat IMO.

Taking your time to do things right is always the correct option. That being said, when do we have to pay for the rest of these? In two weeks I'm going to be out of town for another two and want to make sure you guys know I'm good for it if I'm not around to respond.

I can't read any of it but 1, 3 and 4 are fairly obvious. But what is 2? is that an atmospheric version or something?

I have a question about this Seto. I can't read the text but looking at the cutaway and doing some basic math they're showing a lot more than 90 missiles per assembly in the MF book on page 76. Skimming over the text I see where it says 90 (though I can't read it so I'm only assuming it's talking about the missiles there), but they show twenty missiles, 4x5, in a row of 8 stacked 2 high in the cutaway. That's 320 total per pack. Their text and art don't correspond at all.

Pretty simple to work out, Plus, 7 and Frontier. We've already seen Isamu in the second Frontier movie so plenty of characters from 7 would still be alive at the time of Frontier.- 2715 replies

Thanks to Tking for trying to hook me up when it looked like I wouldn't get Cap or Hulk. They finally arrived, so it appears BandaiOnline will make good on orders, but they'll massively overcharge you on shipping. Cap is pretty poseable though I'm not sure I'm terribly keen on his face sculpt. The the replacement eyes are pretty derpy. Hulk has a lot of paint shading and the sculpt looks good but honestly his articulation is terrible. He has cuts and swivels all over him and practically all of them are hindered or useless. I find Hulk incredibly disappointing.

It gets more confusing, now the USPS website says it's in my city when yesterday they told me it was back in Japan... This is why I ship by FedEx.

Cool, looks like they shipped Cap and Hulk back to Japan for some stupid reason. Now I have to contact the seller. I'm pretty much screwed as regular Japanese customer service is s.h.i.t. as it is.

Well, the X-Men are still around but there are only six books (and with one being Deadpool that's five books and one irritating red guy.) That's the lowest number they've been in twenty five years. To be honest, the changes to Wolverine and Wolverine aren't that big.
