Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread

I can't comment on the character designs but the effects scenes aren't finished yet. Not even the stuff shown in this trailer apparently. He was talking about the art direction and animation.- 2715 replies

Good spot, I didn't even notice that. Even still, I'm in for the Cruiser mode.

New Pic of the SDF-1 in color.

That would have been awesome, but probably also spectacularly brittle.

Bummer about your feet. Other than that this has been my opinion about the Hi-Metals as well. I'm hoping, because Battroid is so much fun to pose, that the destroids and non-transforming enemy mecha will be good to go too. The 19's weren't so much fun in any mode so I'm still worried that they might not even be fun little VF-4 or 2SS figurines to pose.

I'll take three of each, please.

I find they're only putting it on their streaming service as odd. They don't want to utilize their own broadcast anymore? Or they have so little faith in it that they won't even bother with it. The only plus side about that is since it doesn't need to please everyone maybe they can be more "Star Trek-ey" with the show.

I'd skip the yellow one and go for an Ozma color instead. But they do already have an official one with black on it that already sort of fills that role.

This I can get behind, and it's exactly what I'm doing with the HMR's. All of the extra Destroids and Enemy stuff are interesting to me because they'll likely never be done in 1/60. However the Valks, which I am still curious about, so far haven't compared to any of the their 1/60 counterparts from Yamato, Arcadia or Bandai themselves. There's a world of difference between the V1 and V2 Yamato's. There's been no change between Hi-Metal VF-1's. And speaking of which, pragmatism and negativity are not the same thing. I didn't say bandai sucked, but i am saying that their old 19's were bad and we now have evidence they didn't upgrade the VF-1 at all. Maybe the engineering is better, but given they haven't made an effort to upgrade their flagship piece how much effort will they put into the other Valks? Until we get them in hand I'm not willing to call these things 1/60 killers.
-
Yeah, along with the VF-1 it's probably one of the more transformable of all the valks.
-
They already made a couple of VF-19's in the Hi-Metal line.
-
You've owned those bad 19's as well. None of this is guaranteed to be good until we get one in hand. Not even the enemy mecha, which I'm excited (and still looking for a pre-order for) are guaranteed to be good.
-
I still don't see why all of this is so exciting. The VF-1's are just okay and apparently nobody remembers just how appalling the 19's were... Or their previous attempts at the 25's before that. They've shown no effort in fixing the issues with the VF-1 so likely if a 19 comes out it won't be any better than terrible as well. Other than the promise of the 2012 scheme or a rare design like the 2SS (and don't forget the 19 was rare when these were first released) there is no guarantee anything here will be better than okay.

I always thought they needed another Captain Jack like foible who does exactly what you say but is shown to be right from time-to-time to prove that certain aspects of killing for survival are necessary and don't have to be acts of evil.

There are two engines? Where is the second located? You didn't get a sense of any sort of transformation looking at it, did you?- 2715 replies

I've noticed, it's not really a cracking but a wrinkling. Some canopies seem to have a heavier coat than others and those tend to be the one's that will wrinkle. My Milia 1J is HEAVILY rainbow tinted and shows a very tiny amount of wrinkle but it's still good. The other four yammies have a very light sort of rainbow tint and haven't experienced any sort of wrinkling or damage, to say nothing of that extreme photo Vi-RS posted.
