I'm glad to hear so many are finally getting the chance to own one of these. Hopefully there won't be any manufacturing flubs and everybody can enjoy theirs like I've enjoyed my Yamato versions. I still think it's the benchmark for a Valk toy.

So I finally got to see Star Wars today with my Dad. From the opening crawl obviously written for an illiterate person it was clear this movie was not going to be anything more than okay. It is most definitely not better than any of the original Trilogy, and hardly better than the prequels. Save me Rian Johnson, please.

If the review for this first one had been positive I would have jumped back in on a SAP equipped pre-order. But this is a massive no for me.
-
Somebody order a second one for me? No way in hell I can skip sleeping these days. Odd about the TFA Stormtroopers, I managed to get two.

That's true, that Luke is going to be a royal bitch to pre-order.

Macross World Podcast - feedback & comments
Mommar replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I find the story about Kawamori's meetings with the Hollywood people interesting but mostly sad. First, it's clear why movies suck so hard in the US is because the morons here think everything has to have a "destiny" attached to it or we can't understand it (and partly why the new Star Trek doesn't work, Kirk had no destiny he just kicked ass, so did Indiana Jones, countless other iconic film heroes were just everyday people as well...) Second, the fact Kawamori didn't fight back on a lot of their points. Like why Minmay? Because she was there. It's s war, most people do "great" things because they're the only motherf**kers there. And by the time of the final attack pretty much all of earth was wiped out, who the hell else was going to be able to sing at that level anyway? Also, why music? Because music is a great shorthand for emotions in stories, it's why film makers use it EVERYWHERE. It should be blatantly obvious that attempting to broadcast television or a novel wouldn't work as well as music would.- 1147 replies

Hey guys, in the speakerpodcast Renato pointed out that the paint scheme for the 31A there is the official paint scheme. So for those of you who like the real-world style schemes it sounds like the 31A has just that. Pretty much guarantees I will wind up with three of them.

Wasn't one of these supposed to be a con exclusive release?

On the plus side, if anybody does want to put armor on their 0A they're still on sale and are apparently already cheaper to buy as well. The lower leg portions might not fit on the 0D because those parts of the legs are different. Every other place where the armor attaches seems to be the same as on the 0A and 0S though.

It's just marketing, people. Notice how all we do is talk about why we haven't seen the other modes? Where are the other modes? What do the other modes look like? Clearly this marketing campaign is working.

Yeah, that's probably the only Hulkbuster that has gone up against The Hulk and won...

I thought they were releasing them individually? Leo and Donnie first, then Raph and Mikey in the Fall. Oh, nm, I should have checked the website first. I see they're being done separately. I wonder if they'll do villains from the cartoon as well.

Given how robust the posing on the Figuarts version is I can't imagine the Sentinel Hulkbuster being much more poseable.

Macross Δ (Delta) Mecha/Technology Thread - READ 1st POST

Way to stick it to 'em Kawamori, suck it Bandai. -
I thought, other than being a bit OP'd, that fight scene with Batman against all of the thugs was pretty well shot. He's a brutal SOB in this, that's for sure.

My problem is that the plastic on the SAP actually looks even more cheap than the rest of the Valk, IMO.

Not in any way surprising. An unnecessary sequel fifteen years later for a movie that was an enjoyable, pop-culture quirk.

I still need a 1/60 VT-1.

I'll second that, I've wanted a proper 2SS for twenty years but I look at the pics and I just can't do it. I've spent a lot of money on a toy before but despite the many flaws we've had on both our Yamcadia and Bandai Valks at least they all look great on the shelf. This thing looks so terribly cheap and miss-proportioned. The finish on the white, and especially the green fast packs, looks atrociously bad. Really, really, can in no way convince me to purchase type bad.

And I still don't care about a Han Solo movie.
