Despite my continued irritability with these little VF-1's, as cool as they are, I'm still all in on the various Destroids, Battle Armor and other Mecha and the 2SS though I imagine that may be as fiddly as the VF-1's. They look good once you sort that out. Does anybody have a loose right head cannon? I had to nail polish the thing because it was impossible to fit the legs down for Gerwalk/Fighter without bumping that bloody little thing off.

Confirmation of different swappable hands finally. Also, is it weird Insaw those later shots with the effects parts and my first thought was how come they nevwr used Black Panther in any of the Marvel vs Capcom games? -
You can't really tell from the photo but the blues are different too. The original release has a much darker blue color. The new one is lighter blue plus the gray which makes the whole thing look washed out in comparison. Kind of odd but I guess you guys are right. If they hadn't done the opposite and made Max larger and put him in Meltrandi battle armor this is what Max (and Milia's) VF-1J's would have looked like in DYRL. Now I remember why I hated these things so much. The sliding bar mechanism for the shoulders is a good idea but it doesn't quite work well enough to get the shoulders around the legs when going back into Fighter. Popping the sliding mechanism off works better. And in fighter the thing is fricking finicky, especially with super parts attached.

Very different color from the previous Max release. That white isn't white at all. VERY grey. I prefer the previous releases color by a lot.

Yeah, I was asking about those. The stabilizers are flush withbthe fuselage in fighter on the lineart.

This is why I encouraged hachi to check his Max when it came in. So far it sounds like the Hikaru 1J is the only one with multiple glaring QC issues reported here. Or have I missed a few others that have been reported?

Comparing it to the ML one will be interesting. Kinda odd, the e-mail I got from NY says the release was pushed up to the 25th from the 30th. The Bandai solicitations say it should have been released two days ago.

I still don't believe Mirage will sell that well. Graham is right, all of the Frontier Pre-orders were significantly easier to get. Even with all of the trouble people have had tracking down Michael's after the fact I didn't have to be sure to set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night in order to secure a pre-order like I have for the two Delta Valks.

CDJapan does this too. Yes, you will be waiting for Milia to be released before they'll ship Max. I've had to cancel an order with them once because I accidentally combined something that was in stock and something I was pre-ordering and had to wait for the pre-order to release. I also had a problem where I made an order with two pre-orders that were released at different times and I had to wait for the second pre-order to release before the first would ship out.

The timeline screwiness is no more clean in the comics. I feel that's about the only thing they've kept accurate between the Films and Comic Books.

It's cool but... why 1/6th scale? I'd prefer something smaller and more manageable.

I was momentarily tempted to get a fourth but I have too much other crap on pre-order to go for it.
