It's because Alex Kurtzman isn't in charge this season. Someone who actually LIKES and has made previous Trek is on this season. Only problem is it's still saddled with the franchise debasement of the previous seasons.

The best I got from Mr K was he agreed the B variant looked good. I assume that's going to revolve around sales numbers for this one. Maybe.

Outside of the front faceplate being different there isn't anything else unique about the Captain and GM's. Just let the heads be swappable and give people reasons to buy multiple up front.

I would think it would be between the VF-1 and VF-4 prices. Or I hope, anyway. I'll guess Y26000-Y28000.

The 5000 is about the same size as a VF-1.

Not anymore. This isn't SDFM or DYRL, there's no reason it can't be sold domestically (other than ugly markups.)

I don't know anything about Master Replica. Are they really quality? If they've assumed the license but are not reproducing the Eaglemoss stuff maybe they're planning their own line with better models? -
Too bad they don't have a price/release listed there. I'd like to plan for it ahead of time. I want at least 2.

I believe so. Less toy-like. They match the Yamato/Arcadia look too. The other changes Jenius mentioned I'm not clear really do anything. I haven't noticed between the 25 and 29 I have. But I do like how they look compared to the rest of the collection, outside of those damn shiny Yamato 19s. -

The renewal versions are matte instead of shiny now. They look more like models and less like toys. -
I don't trust any of those releases. Their Knight Iron Man figure is a massive piece of trash.

None of this is a compelling reason for Target to want to put a $200+ Macross item on the shelf. Robotech Cars mean nothing and attempting to compare a $100 Transformer from one of the largest franchises on the planet to a $200+ toy from a series nobody knows about makes zero sense to Target.
