So looking closer at this photo there are actually three 31A's with armor. The two spotted on the right and one other on the left behind Chuck. Presumably Messer is dead and Hayate and Mirage are missing/captured/considered dead/whatever so they had to pad the squadron out with three other pilots/31's. But now I need six Kairos total...

I'm just now getting to look at the pics on something larger than a phone and I didn't even realize that shot with all of the missiles appears to be a Reaction Missile Itano. The thing I'm wondering is if the fin things aren't for Reaction Missiles why have them? They prevent the wings from folding all the way out. It's an odd thing to have without some sort of context. Or you could just stick four more on the wing things and... now you've got four more. Go kill a lot of somethings. He's still using them, man.

It’s especually silly considering the Drakens attach via hard points and the 31 has two underneath their wings. But it wouldn’t look/act like the Tornado Parts/262 if they were attached like that. Or strapped over the wings like the super parts already are.

I had to zoom the pic in my phone to notice the blue hair. I think your explanation does make sense based on the overview of the show.

Hayate doesn’t take over Messers ride in the movie, unless I miss-heard what the SpeakerPodcast guys were saying. Did somebody mention Lil’ Drakens for Hayates VF-31J in one of the movie write ups.

There is that. Lol -
Wanted three clean kairos but I’m liking all three modes for the armor. I’m going to have to get two Arads, two Chucks and, God help my wallet, track down a fourth Kairos. Kind of odd, Hayate doesn’t seem to get an upgrade of any kind. Arad, Chuck and no-name get giant armor, Mirage gets a 262 but it doesn’t sound like Hayate gets any sort of upgrade.

Adrian on the Speakerpodcast says he doesn't think they can sell the armor outside of a bundle. I'm not sure that's true. Chucks, maybe, because Yellow isn't that popular of a color. THough his regular Valk underneath is unique on it's own and not everybody wants the armor so that might the sales of his Valk even lower. People who just want the 31E for the dish aren't going to pay through the nose for the armor to come with it. Doing it separate would potentially guarantee more sales for his Valk since people who only like the Dish can get it, people who only want the armored version can get that and then there are the nut jobs (like me) who will want both. However, Arads and the Kairos armor could EASILY be sold stand alone and sell a ton more. People will buy the red and white or the more neutral gray there and put that armor on the rest of the squad just because. They're great for customs and Bandai would be nuts to not sell the Armor separate for those two. Surprising there are no Reaction missiles on the wing things. And now I have to go track down a fourth Kairos for an armored version too...

Nobody has ever montioned more than Arad and Chuck, then again nobody mentioned the scene where the Kairos had a pack too so... Well, to be more accurate nobody who has watched the show mentioned it. That could be the only scene it appears in. The booklet for the movie mentioned Arad leading a squad with Armored Kairos. I personally didn't think it would appear in the film though. I've been wrong a lot this past week.

It wouldn’t be difficult to paint over those tips. But the silly writing on the sides might not be a draw either. -

Dude, I’m all-in on the Mezco One:12 line of Marvel figures. I’ve only skipped three so far and I missed a pre-order for a limited one plus a con exclusive I couldn’t get as well but I love them. They’re not entirely perfect but essentially they’re like Hot Toys shrunk to six inch scale (soft goods), less fragile and based on the comic properties instead of movies, though more movie versions have become a thing for this line too. -

It’s a gag for Deadpool, the clips say Chimichonga on the side too. The Grenade launcher has “Bye Bye!!!” painted on it too. The Punisher, and even the other two Deadpool figures, don’t have those tips. And those tips are only on the Uzi’s. The M-16 does not have that, nor the pistol. -

I posted about this already, don't get your hopes up about the 31A at all. The book also features full entries to characters who don't appear in the movie at all. A mention of some other thing in another entry means nothing for actual depiction in the film.

Macross Δ (Delta) Movie Gekijō no Walkūre (Passionate Walkure)
Mommar replied to no3Ljm's topic in Movies and TV Series
Your summary, maybe. But you hate everything Delta. I’m neither for nor against the show. A B- means it’s enjoyable enough. Not great, not the worst thing either. The problems apparently weren’t problem enough or it would have been given a C or a D or worse. B- isn’t bad.- 810 replies

Macross Δ (Delta) Movie Gekijō no Walkūre (Passionate Walkure)
Mommar replied to no3Ljm's topic in Movies and TV Series
Comparing the review on ANN with the speaker podcast they're in agreement. If you don't like the basic story you won't like the movie either. Things have been changed, moved around, addressed and dropped apparently all for the better, except for those of us who really like Mirage. The biggest complaint is if you don't know the story from the show you will be confused in the second half of this movie. Well, if you don't know the story of SDFM you won't know what the hell is going on from the very beginning of DYRL. So not really the greatest complaint other than they consistently haven't been able to make their stories clear in condensed form from the beginning of Macross. But the movie is fun to watch, the characters are all likeable and get their moments. It's not perfect but it's watchable and fun and well paced. For any of us fans who already know the show it'll all make sense. So a B- overall, according to both the Speaker podcast and ANN, is eminently watchable it's just not groundbreaking. That's actually amazing considering the source material.- 810 replies

Another thing to note, I know a lot of us are into the 31A above all and along with the image of Arad is a blurb about armored 31A’s but the speaker podcast guys pointed out in this same magazine they mention and depict characters who never appear in the film. Those are people with their own entries and actual images that never appear. The armored 31A’s are only a blurb in another characters description and nobody has mentioned them appearing on film so don’t expect anything about them at all.

Unless the missile parts on the boosters really heavily weigh the joints onnyhe wing roots down the majority of the additions are all on the legs for the most part. The upper body isn’t changed much from the regular supers. The ankles/toes will be the part to REALLY watch given the hips are now ratcheted on these.

Actually it isn’t backwards. When stowed the grey bits push out the back of the packs. It’s facing forward there.
