So a lot of this could have been avoided if one of the Japanese companies who originally made Macross had patented the name, etc... in the US THEN licensed it out?

Reviews for The Mandelorian have been pretty positive so far. I'll have to view it for myself though. I'm skeptical of Star Wars reviews ever since I was told TFA was good too.- 1438 replies

The only realistic way to get a proper 21 in Fighter and Battroid is to provide swappable legs (probably arms too.) There's no physical reality where that plane can become that Battroid.

Wow, Wonder Woman is charging soon. They’re delivering in a little over a month? That’s unprecedented. Oh, it was a fall exclusive. That’s why. Apparently an extremely unpopular one too.

The body is still mashed forward. Look how far up those intakes and wing roots are.

I read a potential doozy of a description for the first episode last night. If it happens to be true.- 1438 replies

Grey Hulk and Jeffries Concept Shuttlecraft. This shuttlecraft is fricking amazing. It’s a fantastic model and I wish it were the official shuttlecraft. -
I technically still have a Facebook account but don’t remember the password anymore. What, and how many, people are bitching about it? I wonder what the age of the people whining about it are too? I know Robo admitted he wasn’t thrilled but he was out of the comics game by that point but he was still interested and usually gives things a chance anyway. They didn’t pick the best characters for the wave, that’s for sure. Rogue would have likely been more popular. Wild child but no Sabertooth is odd. Morph doesn’t need to be made regardless of which universe he’s from. And the Wolverine head sculpt is crap. But having the Weapon X team right off the bat is nice to have. I wonder if they’ll be more kind to Jean and give us an X-Factor version sometime too?

You're a minority about buying AoA stuff? Realistically any person who read X-Men in the mid 90's who still collects figures will likely be gobbling them up. I know I will be. I still have all of those old issues bagged up. My concern is they aren't going to do all of the teams and will only Cherry Pick specific characters. I just realized what would be perfect, if they make an AoA Storm she'll have the cropped short hair. That same head sculpt with the shorter hair could be reused to make the Storm figure from Uncanny 275-277 as well. Grey Hulk should be arriving today.

I think I'm going to contact HLJ and ask them if I can just pay them extra to send me replacements because AE are dicks and won't respond anymore. No more purchases from them.

They need to hurry up and deliver interesting toys that are late rather than releasing stupid mascot toys.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse
Mommar replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I laughed at lot more and a lot harder than I have at any other modern movie the last decade, that's for sure. Though with my deep knowledge of the Spider-Man comics I guessed every single beat of the film correct, except for the first Peter being blonde. I assumed he was Ben Reilly but that never came up.- 90 replies

That comparison is interesting. Because of the placement of the lower chest on the Yammie it makes the backpack look higher which is actually correct. On the Bandai the chest is higher, which is in the correct position, but it puts the backpack at the same level, which is not correct. Thicker arms on the Yammie looks better, I agree. Legs are clearly more accurate on the Bandai one. It appears Bandai focused on Battroid and that explains the more stubby nose cone. If the nose cone were as long as the Yammie it would extend past the knees, which it does not in the lineart. The 21 may be one of the hardest to nail in all modes. Comparing the back of the fighters, the Yammie seems a bit too wide and the Bandai seems a bit too narrow. Though from directly behind I think I appreciate how the Bandai version's spacing looks a bit more, though the MASSIVE afterburners next to the tail fins does not look as good. The 21 is pretty much impossible to get right in all three modes at once. Both Bandai and Arcadia got the 19 to look pretty close in all three modes but the 21 simply has to be overly-compromised one way or another.

And according to the author the games are fan-fiction at best. He’s apparently quite the curmudgeon.
