The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0
Mercurial Morpheus replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well it is on a separate third disc after all. I'm sure the on disc extras, if there were any as I seem to remember a rather low deal where one had to access the Japanese menu to find them, are still there. I'm not a big extras person, stemming from the VHS days, but there are some worthwhile things out there. The rough cut of episode 5 was practically worth the price of the R0 alone; I still find it amazing it never found its why online like the open matte six did. -
What we need is a Grace. I'll even take a Cathy. Seriously, enough Sheryl and Ranka for now. It's like how the superior Misato and Ritsuko get overwhelmed by Rei and Asuka.
-
A whole display? Wow. Sounds like my Asukas. Here I'm I'm amazed that I have two Sheryls, and they're among the most expensive figures in my collection.
-
Thanks for the tip! Some of those are great prices. Though the images can make it hard to tell what one's looking at. Congrats, Jasonc. Hope she didn't break the bank.

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

Actually, I generally come across Gunbuster a lot more than I do Diebuster. Being a set helps. The Blu-ray set also has an extras disc. -
Evangelion 2.0: You can (Not) Advance

No other Blu-ray does it? That is odd. Though something could be up with these discs. Mine stuttered like hell in my laptop. Tried The Hangover, and it was fine. Tested the Gunbuster and Diebuster movies, and they dropped frames as well, but not as bad. I figure mine is either the software (good luck testing that) or the hardware (and the drives been recently replaced). Testing a DVD proves nothing, as it's a different laser. -

Yep, that'll take care of it since finding the R0 shouldn't be that easy. Though I don't even own the R1 myself. -

Fine on mine as well, and I'm using older firmware. My pc is another story. Here's one, is it just my PS3, or are the subs really timed not to go away until the next line? Really liked the making of. Surprised at how decent cel shading has gotten (as compared to the utter crap it was) that it sneaked some Evas by me. Though I'm even more amazed at just how much is still hand drawn. Reminds me how much I miss hand drawn mecha and that there is another use for the tool of cgi other than "crutch". -

Too bad about the transformation, though I expected as much. Even the SoC needed parts to flesh out it's Buster Machines. How the look? is it anything like the prototype images, or is what I saw in the box pretty much it? -
She is. Though that's from someone that paid extra for the blue one.

Macross Frontier Concert -@ Playstation home
Mercurial Morpheus replied to USCOLMRNE's topic in Movies and TV Series
This is one of the few things tempting me to actually update my Ps3. I was wondering what became of it. Would've loved that Macross as well. -
Wow. It's times like this that I'm glad I'm not much of a Sheryl fan. I've already spent a 100 bucks on a Sheryl in the past, never again as I still wonder how.
-
Geez. They said they just got the April on the 23rd, so they don't expect it until later this month. I'll be there for the Cherry Blossom Festival, but it's unknown if I'll even have the cash for it then. But I sort of figured that anyway. How much did they want for it anyway? Good luck on the auction.

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

Mind reposting it here? I couldn't even find the Revoltech thread when I went looking for it. Found one for Jehutey, but that was it. Yes. On both like I did (at least with the movie, though the DVD was a gift). Though be sure to get the subless R0, VHS vol. 1, and/or know where to find KAA's fansub to get the unaltered episode 1. And for completeness sake of course. -
That new Sheryl is definitely a looker, even with the ridiculously unnecessary cast off feature. Nice to see another high end that isn't entirely smutty. Tried to pick up the Hobby Japan when I was in SF the other day, but Kinokuniya didn't have it yet. I'll probably miss it. That Klan price is tempting, but Fanime's so close...

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

All i know is that the images look awesome. So I'm hoping it's just the packaging throwing it out of proportion. I know poseability will trump the second Kaiyoodo. That suckers had a loose leg since 2 minutes out of package. I need that Wave figure too.I'm amazed I haven't budgeted it in yet. For another bit of conversation, anyone know how to get the SoC to not bow to you? -
Loved how they incorporated the HUD in there. I'll definitely pick one up if I come across it.

Resuscitating this thread. Any thoughts on the Revoltech? I saw one in Japan Town the other day for 40. It's hard to tell in the box, but I was rather unimpressed by the proportions. Head looks a touch small, and she's looked all around boxy. -
Never as good as the prototype, but decent for what it is. What did that run you?
-
That one's actually pretty cute. The Sheryl's nice too, considering. Glad I don't bother with Nenderoids.
-
True. Stuff like that's been circulating for ages. One can hope it's just artist wish fulfillment. Though I'm not sure why I'd let myself get worked up over it. I'll probably guess the ending while watching it, as usual. Only clicked out of sheer curiosity. I would hope so. Another clicked out of sheer morbid curiosity. I must say, that image is so awesome I may just work it into my avatar(yep, just made it my facebook icon). Worth the peek. Best of all, without context, it's just an odd curio. Getting back to the OST for a moment, it's awesome solely for the inclusion of one of the most solely missed omissions from OST2: the piece played during the theft of the Quarter. That was something of a holy grail bit for lost score for me.

Agreed. A semblence of normality always soothes the troubled soul. Fortunately, it's seems most involved in Macross are okay with reports from May'n, Mamegu, Aya Endo and so on. It apears even the Holy Floating Head himself was out of the country at the time. Hopefully good news comes of those that are currently missing. I haven't heard all the of the album yet, but I've been liking what I have.

Macross General SCOOPUDA thread
Mercurial Morpheus replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Neither have I. My PS3 is still running FW 3.15 since I loathed the removal of OtherOS, and am currently curious to see how HomeBrew and Sony's numerous court escapades play out. Updating to 3.56 would pretty much kill it, and I haven't really been missing PSN. Though all the Macross stuff is mighty tempting for use in my Japanese account (I once learned that there's quite a few Americans that prefer hanging out on Japan Home).
