I believe that's the idea. Nothing more WTF than typing up a message, then suddenly something moves. No problem. I guess this proves the the forum software can't scale gifs for whatever reason. Though I sort of miss the Nanase cosplayer. -

As I said earlier, Gubaba's isn't a gif, but a PNG. He must of had the forum software rescale it and it changed the format or something. Ranka will always be in hiding in that one. Hence why I remade it to MW limits. I can always speed it up, but only if anyone's going to use it. -

How long are you looking at them? They're designed to catch off guard, so she doesn't pop out until after a full 10 seconds. They didn't want to playback in the GIMP, but tested on my Firefox 3, they work just fine. Keep in mind, I only modded it, keeping timing intact. -
Oh, i noticed a somewhat digital look too. given what's gained in the process though, it's more than a fair trade off.

Gubaba's avatar seams to have been converted into a PNG, thereby making it nothing more than as vegetable as the carrots it portrays. Here are two Macross World sized versions. One cropped to maximum dimensions, the other merely scaled down. -
Man, I got sniped a minute before adding that I found it. Thanks though.

Ah, those be the images I mentioned. Yeah, i still need to cut in Grace. No Grace before Cathy though... I'll probably have to just use a screen cap... -
I'm listening to Ranka's debut single for the first time right now, and I like it quite a bit. Not as much as Aimo, or some of Sheryl's stuff, but still good stuff. I'm glad they finally put out her version of Do You Remember Love, even in short version. It still doesn't top the real one, but I like it a lot. I'd love to hear it full. I like it a lot more than the M7 version. Interesting stuff on the M0 composer getting permission. What are your sources for that? I haven't read the whole thread, so pardon my asking how that discussion started. I love Kanno's work, but even I have noticed some influences from her in the past. Part of her M+ score did sound a lot like Holst's Jupiter at parts. I also can't help but hear a little PotC in one MF piece (Tally Ho! I believe). It happens. I remember outright hearing music from Glory in Gundam 0083. I'm not talking something similar either, but the piece itself. Gundam F91's composer seemed heavily influenced by The Empire Strikes Back. We also know what happened recently with Gunbuster (despite that being an obvious homage). I wonder if a FLAC version's out yet. WavPack sounds great and all, but my Winamp isn't configured at the moment to play it (using MPC instead). EDIT Ah, never mind. Thank you s usual, LonE. Though Q-R has great scans.

Outside of making it yourself, no. Though there are several adorable images of her in said outfit on Danbooru. -

Like noted in the post above, use MPC. It's a great player. If you need a codec pack, CCCP is good from what I hear. From my experience, K-lite is a great choice too. http://www.codecguide.com It's what I've been using on my many PCs for years, and have never had a problem with it. -
Since when does distribution method define fansubber status? Especially since you were using pre-existing subs as well. You shouldn't really rag on other groups like that, regardless of how low-key their operations. That's both excellent (they're a great group, and frees you up) and terrible news (they're horribly slow thanks to too many long projects). Add another two years to Galaxy Express 999 and another decade to Queen Millennia ... Thanks for the releases, anyway. I am a big Dirty Pair fan.

If you were aware of E-D, why are you claiming that it's, "finally being fansubbed?" Sort of misinformative, don't you think. ;;; I've not really noticed any timing errors. Though the releases are so far apart, it's been awhile since I watched them. They do, at least, put out v2s (and 3s, and 4s if need be) It's nice to know you're correcting things, but I'd rather you focus on shows not being subbed at all, like Layzner. Awesome news, Doryu2025

The last of the true greats of comedy. I loved him as Rufus, and his stand-up was always incredible. Intelligent, and well delivered. I especially liked his take on the Ten Commandments, "Always be Faithful and True to the Provider of Thy Nookie, and Do Not Kill, Unless the Guy You're Killing Prays to a Different Invisible Dude than You Do. If I could add one though, it would be, 'Keep Thy Religion to Thyself.'" Shame I never got to see him perform live. He would've been here in a month too... RIP George Carlin, Comic Genius.

Did we need to bump another thread on this... ;; i suspect it was there as well. Though it depends on what you're comparing to. A DVD to a fansub/bootleg is not a far comparison.

Indeed they do. Oh and strike that. They're up to 9. They just released a newer version of 7, for some reason.
-
Actually, Exiled-Destiny has been working on this for some time. Granted, they're a little hard to find, as they don't release to Asuki for some messed up reason, but you can find it on well-known secondary trackers. They're on a slow boat to China (up to episode 7 after only 2 or so years!). They use the old subs. You can even find the old VHS rips online. It might be better to just try to help them.

Yeah, it's not really her style, design-wise. It's a crop. Here it is. Pardon if it's been posted. Some Klan in the original for you guys. Sorry if that's so. Though I don't remember seeing it going through the thread. There's next to no Cathy at all! I know, as I tried finding a decent shot for my new avatar. -

Wow, that's kind of wicked sounded. Especially My Friends. So different from Mylene's version. Is this her normal sound? -

Yeah, but this is fiction we're talking about. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a reason outside of a nod. -

Ah. I just posted it as such given the thread discussion at the time. Thanks for the input. Comparisons like these are always helpful, especially with so many choices. It's nice to hear from the translators themselves. Especially one's willing to admit bias and mistakes. I'll give GG's version a look if I can, though I try to stay faithful to one group unless proven the need to be otherwise. Speed means little to me. Heck, I watch your version of Code Geass unless the PC I'm on decides it won't handle it. Fortunately, in such cases, Eclipse does a good job as well. The filesize difference between Chihiro, GG and Lunar are practically the same. Lunar's is a mere 10 megs bigger on low-res, and only about 50 megs on high, a tad steep, but nothing outrageous. GG is comparable to Shinsen in size, at least until episode 11. Of them, it looks like GG or Lunar are the better choices over Chihiro (nothing against them personally, just going on what I've seen those in the know say.). Though if it's one thing to say about Shinsen, they usually always stick fast. So I wouldn't worry. Though it'd be nice if they put out a Deculture v2 with Ranka's name spelled correctly (Nitpick, I know ). -

This sure this has been discussed before. As far as we know, Ozma is aware of "Dr. Mao". Other than that, unknown. We'd be pretty pathetic Macross fans had we never noticed. -

Here's a comparison among some of the groups using half of episode nine. Sadly, Shinsen's not among them. Pretty informative. http://yesy-fansubs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1591 More discussion here: http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/fansub-q...s-frontier.html -

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Unsurprising since I only used it once. I wonder if I can get that hardsub extractor to work on CAs. I could start work stripping them too.- 347 replies
