  1. Sometime around twoish then? We should be able to make it to the city by then if not sooner.
  2. Thanks for the advice. Too bad I deliberately saved it, then forgot about it and made a post to a gathering thread. Dang it all. I'll have to post of pics of my friend's Roy jacket. It's not as advanced as my Max (his is still ver2.0, mine's more like 3.5), but it still came out well, and actual has a collar not really requiring the 3.0 revision.
  3. True, though a Ranka based parody of Coraline would be pretty awesome. Actually, there is one, sort of. I have one replicating the fountain photo.
  4. Nice. Though I'd also prefer a TV one. DYRL version gets enough love.
  5. So with the day pretty much upon us, is this still happening or what? The go-kart idea seems plausible, or a meetup in Japantown or something. Any ideas, or are we truly going to lose to the techies. I have no problem having yours shipped here UN Spacy, as I'm in with a friend as is. The only problem would be actually meeting.
  6. Though in my long OST experience, I've found Japanese ones to be a lot more complete compared to some film scores out there. Though I agree that whenever songs are involved, BGM takes a back seat. Since it is Kanno's work, it should be a matter of time. Your thread is awesome, by the way. This talk has actually opened me back up to F music. I may even listen to the whole song collection now (minus Sheryl Aimo, once was enough). Until then, I assume Frontier is being released in 5.1. Surely some music might be salvagable from the rear channels if they followed usual mixing procedures. I did find myself doing the "kira" pose in the car today. Mostly to bewilder a friend. Nine-hundred and Ninety-nine happy (well, mostly) posts here. But there's room for a thousand....
  7. I'd vote, but I can't really remember what my favorites are. Frontiers a blur. Going by jogging my memory of titles, maybe 7, 13(14?), and one other. Perhaps 18 had it not caused so much pain concerning Sheryl afterwards. Characters are a touch clearer. I'd pick either Ozma or Alto, and Grace or maybe Ranka. Love how Booby's under women. Any point to this outside of collecting pointless data?
  8. That looks like a great base. You might want to try Wonderflex to augment it.
  9. Nothing new there. Let him have his fun. At least it's only a few days wait.
  10. It's simple really. If you made and charged 100 bucks for the Toynami "Masterpiece" Veritechs, would you really want people telling your mostly closed in fanbase how much cooler the near equally priced Yamatos are? It's a corporate site after all. Heck, there's still plenty of RT people seemingly unaware Robotech's a hack job or unwilling to touch anything non-HG. It's got nothing to do with Macross (they even have a dedicated board to the originals), and all about marketing. I can't blame them to be honest. At least they're not banning Frontier discussion to protect SC. Though these are the guys that reauthored a CD collection just because one stupid guy bitched about them not mutilating some audio by faking stereo mixes, all because he felt he shouldn't be forced to listen to something recorded in mono in mono in the 21st century. So they're really odd. Man was that messed up. "Johnny doesn't give a rat's @ss about musical intergrity, so lets put it to a vote for the laymans and mess up something we actually got right the first time."
  11. Nice. I definitely like the new ED better than the new OP. The latest episode wasn't the best outside of the Saji/Louise scene and the Anew payoff (stupid Lyle). Nice to see Nena back to her delicious psycho ways though. Nice images, wolfx.
  12. Along with Gundam 00 and Toradora as they air, I've lately been watching White Album. It's sort of confusing at first, but it's got an interesting pace to it. It's also vaguely reminded me of Frontier in the early episodes. I've also been watching the ever so awesome Hetalia: Axis Powers.
  13. The thing that peeved me about it was how they chopped up AnimEigo's remastered footage back into Robotech after refusing to do it themselves. Why remaster when you can just confiscate it after someone else does it for you? To turn a labor of love by another company into that shodily done dreck (watching "Force of Arms with "Rick's" confession of love that he later worries about not having done sort of augments this fact) was just pouring salt into the wound. They even let ADV restore Mospeada and Southern Cross. Though I've always suspected that that only happened because ADV didn't want to get upshown by their smaller competitor.
  14. There's a Mac version of uTorrent, actually. I would trust that it would be on par with the PC version. Though it appears that they're still working on it. It might be worth trying at least. http://mac.utorrent.com/ Otherwise, Transmission looks promising. I loved Azureus back in the day, despite it's memory choking Java use.
  15. AE has the better audio because they personally secured better masters from the studio while on a trip to Japan. Hence it was thiers exclusively. The video was from HG. When the license lapsed, HG turned it over to ADV, but since AE acquired the audio themselves, ADV recieved HG's copy. That's why they don't use the same audio. As for the dub music, CD soundtracks were probably used, and i know they used new Sound FX.
  16. Well, I was speaking purely in OST terms. Naturally the series itself can't be shared on non-ADV trackers. I believe all you need to do is add the tracker announce and upload it. Though I've only made one torrent myself. Still, as long as the torrent file's the same, it shouldn't matter. The sites are merely hosting your source info. Definitely get them on Nyaa if you can. Also, you may want to ditch the bloated Vuze. It's a shell of Azureus' former greatness. UTorrent is much lighter and easier to manage. Creating my torrent was a snap with it.
  17. The last one there is a blurred out mess. That would only be good for something like the histograms over at OT.com
  18. Anirena's good, but I think it's primarily used as a base for fansubbers. Most of the time I find them through other trackers. TokyoTosho is the better choice. Don't worry about the "No ADV" rule, as ADV doesn't own the OSTs. Boxtorrents is also a great choice, though they have a few including a lossless torrent up. Though it's not as complete as this. There's also Nyaa Torrents, Dead Frog, and Delta Anime. Finally, there's the minglong tracker. Good non-anime trackers include The Pirate Bay, Mininova, and the awesome Demonoid.
  19. I really need to check the Fan Works section more often. I had no idea any of this existed. I found it through rather interesting circumstances. I was at a con last weekend, and someone let go of a ton of raw VHS from the 80s and 90s. The DYRL dub was in there, so I actually got a copy of "Super Spacefortress Macross" to go along with my old, well worn before I ever got it, copy of "Clash". I'd oft been wondering if anyone had attempted to preserve the old Hong Kong dub for the hell of it so i did a search. If not, I actually had the thought of ripping it myself now that I have a copy. I stumbled upon this on Mininova. That's how I found this. Though I'm sort of curious. The mininova description throws me off a bit. You label it "Clash" yet it's the full movie from the looks of it. That would make it "Super Spacefortress Macross", and not the heavily edited "Clash of the Bionoids". I know some of the boxart was odd if memory served, but "Clash" is only about 80 minutes. So I'm sort of confused as to how you did this. I take it this is more a revision than a straight audio rip, going by the multiple sources. I'll have to dig through the thread more. Also, there are many better sites for filesharing than Rapidshare (though I keep forgetting to bookmark them). Why the use of antiquated avi? All this work would better benefit from something like AVC. Some very interesting projects you have here. Sorry for all the questions.
  20. I'm actually surprised it took them this long to make a Sheryl, given her inexplicable popularity. Looking decent so far, and the only thing that should be removable is the hat. Maybe I'll pick it up, who knows.
  21. It could always be short for "Operation", like "Special Ops". "Operation Monster Girl" sort of works. Though I always though it was "up" anyway. The coloration's still a touch odd though.
  22. Okay, are there still plans for combined shipping on the posters to coincide with this?
  23. Thanks for the info, Westfall. I know a lot of the BGM I enjoyed isn't there. I'd really like the piece where they steal the Quarter. I think they went for something along the lines of a suite approach. The songs are good, but I always hate how the BGM always takes a backseat.
  24. Nice collection. How about getting a seed on that sucker? ^_- It goes nicely with the lossless over on Boxtorrents.
  25. The Kakizaki steak is awesome. I've always wanted to simulate that.
