Bandai 1/72 Scale Transformable Macross Δ Kits
electric indigo replied to IXTL's topic in Model kits
Even the kits from Bandai's Star Wars line, which is the cream of the crop currently, have those badly screened decals, so Bandai seems to expect the serious modelers to paint those areas anyway. -

^ these videos remind me of the old days of Heavy Metal comics. They look inspired by Juan Giménez, among others. -
Yeah, the paint job looks pretty perfect!

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
electric indigo replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I wonder if unmanned fighters would lead to endless attrition warfare, since a central AI or swarm intelligence would recklessly sacrifice units for the greater good. -
Nice to see you around, K, and great job on the cockpit.

1/72 VF-1EX Valkyrie "Macross Delta" by Hasegawa
electric indigo replied to slide's topic in Model kits
Large pics also at Hobbysearch: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10396131/10/0 Interesting to see that the overall color is actually off-white. And that pinstripe around the nose looks like a massive modeling PITA... -

Quite a beast! If you want a shinier surface, you should try a "wetter" paint application. Make just one pass on the part, but have the paint self-level itself (*just before* it will run from the surface or form pools). Let it dry for a day, repeat if more coverage is needed.

Kobayashi has been drawing Yamatos under construction for a long time, even before 2199, so these images might have nothing to do with 2202.

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
electric indigo replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The huge disadvantage of the clear design is that it makes the skull's eyes visible again. IMO the eyeless face is the scariest element of the Alien. -
