Did they use the old 1/144 Imai kits as reference? The proportions look horrible.

That was a perfect moment in Anime history.

"From the writer and director of "Ex Machina"..." was enough to get me hooked, and it actually looks pretty cool.

So they have to re-design the Valks for legal reasons but the Battroid looks like a Battroid (minus the I-can't-really-draw factor)?- 1934 replies

I agree that the Flash Gordon era ships were indeed great, but they closer they got to the OT timeline, the weaker the designs became IMO. What I do like is the lineage of the Stormtrooper design, from the Clone Trooper to the recent iTrooper. It's amazing that the McQuarrie/Johnson machines are cultural icons, and nothing comes up to fill their footsteps.

I don't know what the concept designers are doing. It's The Prequels all over again.

Interestingly, the red A-Wing has the new ships in the background. https://www.revell.de/produkte/star-wars/star-wars-episode-viii/id/06759.html

So the New First Order hasn't learned a bit and comes up with another Death Star? https://www.revell.de/produkte/star-wars/star-wars-episode-viii/id/06760.html

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2

A whole lot of new Ep.8 stuff announced from Bandai, but the kits are mostly recolors & tiny mods http://www.taghobby.com/archives/category/9-0/星球大戰-star-wars Lots of Figuarts, too - the Royal Guards come in different flavors, I like the strong asian design motives. -
For a great VF-2SS, look no further than Bandai's Hi-Metal R!

The slimmer nacelles on Wave's version look just sexy. And they prove that they understand Kawamori's designs with their Crusher Joe products IMO.
