Just got word from HLJ that Hasegawa will produce 1/72 kits of the Fighter-1 in their Creator Works line! I also wouldn't mind a Minerva in 1/200...

These 1/100 kits are pretty good for alternate paint schemes. More pics of the VF-2SS, please!

Very nice with the overall balanced weathering. For dealing with exaggerated panel lines: Leave off the wash or do a very light one.

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII

Splinter camo is where I draw the line. Here's a new shot of my 1/48 Tarangus Viggen: -

I never quite got the purpose of digital (not splinter or dazzle) camo, other than screaming "21st century!" and looking nice occasionally -

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
electric indigo replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looks like the Bandai kit is as good as 1/72, just the pilot is undersized. -

Thanks for the review and the photos! So the kit is actually only slightly larger than the old MPC version? I still think that with their density of details, these kits could easily be blown up to 1/48 size. -

I think that like Makoto Kobayashi, Ikuto Yamashita has become a prisoner of his CAD tools, his pre-Anima work was far more organic. And, like kanjrig mentioned, this EVA looses it's original concept. Still, Yamashita is ahead of the game in terms of general mecha design and I can't wait to see the full body.

I'd try polishing a grey base with graphite powder or similar metal powders. Even a light brushing produces a nice sheen. -

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
electric indigo replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As if the movie adaption was not enough, there's a comic anthology by western artists that's coming in September. https://kodanshacomics.com/series/ghost-in-the-shell-global-neural-network/ However, one of the artists makes a really good Shirow impression (minus Shirow's occasional sloppiness) https://www.instagram.com/musashinoelegy/- 751 replies

Now tone down the yellow bits or make them pale gold and you have a Boss.

Another thing to consider for a good gloss finish is to move "forward", i.e. in the direction of the airflow, over the surface, so that the mist of paint will be pushed away from areas with fresh paint. Do this while spraying at an angle and not perpendicular to the surface. It all sounds terribly complicated, but it will like driving a car after a while.
-
If you get grainy surfaces, either your paint is too thick and you need to add more thinner, or you spray too far from the surface and the paint dries mid-air, so to speak. Try to get closer to the surface or get more output from your airbrush (I'd recommend the first, if you're not dealing with large, uniform surfaces like a car body).

Who cares - it's Lord Bolton on a Hurricane! -
I never cared much for these kits, but with your paintjob it looks pretty sharp.
