The sqidd Recommends Reign Of Fire Movie
electric indigo replied to sqidd's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think this was mentioned several times in the old Guilty Pleasures thread. Some elements definitely push it into B-Movie territory, but I can watch Bale in everything, the Dragon shots were pretty awesome, and Matthew McConaughey was killing it in his role. -
The pilots look really cool. And once you get past the canopies, the rest of the kit will be a breeze! I've been visiting an old friend, too: Pulled the age card and used decals for the eyes...

New 1/350 MOSPEADA Garfish Project?

Great work again - thanks for the fish! -
That looks so good! It was criminal of Bandai to drop their 1/35 Patlabor line before making the Zero.

I notice that the like button beneath each post is kinda hovering on the right side of the window (on Safari). The new look is nice btw!

RIP Michael Lonsdale (James Bond Villain Hugo Drax)
electric indigo replied to pengbuzz's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was surprised when I checked IMDB and found a very long list of movies he's starred in, and some that I like very much, most notably Alejandro AmenĂ¡bar's Agora, Spielberg's Munich, and Milos Forman's Goya's Ghosts. -
Ron Cobb, amazing artist & concept designer, died on Monday at the age of 83. While he never rose to the level of fame of Syd Mead or Ralph McQuarrie, his iconic contributions to 80s SF milestones can't be rated him enough. I think his comprehensive approach to design is best represented in his work for "Alien", ranging from environments to hardware & costumes right down to the corridor labels and iconography the makes the movie so captivating. http://roncobb.net/

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII

Recent J-20s sport a metallic lo-vis splinter camo, so you can have the best of both worlds. - What's new in the sky these days: KLM conducts a study of a funky V-Wing in cooperation with Airbus: while Airbus puts it's blended wing design on the list of contenders for a future zero emission product line and then there's the Celera 500L bullet plane -

On this topic, did somebody watch The Challenger? -
Looks great! Are the raised panels on the right molded on the kit or did you add them?

There are some wild variations of the design out there in the garage kit market, but that is the most interesting plastic kit yet IMO. The RG line's hyper detail approach works better on the mobile armor dimensions of the Zeong than on the normal Mobile Suits.

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII

Isn't it time for PLAAF inspired schemes...? -
Another pro-quality finish on the F-14, and again, the pics could pass as a 1/48 build. The kit looks very detailed, are the spoilers photo etch parts? I guess the only details you have to take care of with a closed canopy Tomcat build are the pilots' helmets and the ejection handles. I will fast-forward this section if I pick up my Hase kit again.

Great weathering on the 51! It takes a lot of stamina to work your way over such a large toy. _ My Fitter build turns out to be more of an obstacle course, too. Basically, I only need to install the various antennas & stuff, but after finding a photo of a polish Fitter with the bomb rack, I noticed that I need to cut off the pylon that is part of the outer wing fence - kind of adventurous on a finished kit... Alternatively, I could loose the bombs and install two more drop tanks, which use the pylon. I also ordered an Aerobonus aftermarket pilot, only to find out that it was apparently sculpted after a lean 10 year old boy, and looks totally lost in the spacious cockpit. Any ideas for an alternative resource?

I made two purchases at this shop and both went super smooth. I credit them for offering not only bootleg stuff, but also original garage & IP kits, like these from Model Legend.- 998 replies

I noticed on the Hobbysearch homepage that there's a massive restock of Gundam Decals, so make sure to grab them while they're there.

Prometheus sends his greetings... It looks exceptional anyway, the overall style reminds me of Russian SF films. -
