I used my 1/48 kit of the MiG-21bis-D to recreate the cover shot of "Silver Wings" by aircraft photographer Katsuhiko Tokunaga. More pics of the model on Flickr -

I highly recommend the comic. It has many layers. -
All that matters from the film is Andy Probert's ultimate Enterprise design.

General TV & Streaming series thread

DMZ is one of my favorite comic series, but the approach from the trailer didn't look very promising. -
At least I found a translation of that Bandai letter in the comment section: Hobbysearch seems to be overreacting by pulling all Bandai items (Tamiya too, it seems) instead of limiting orders, but the may also not want to expose themselves on the ominous "parallel exports" front.

ARII love -
A new french edition of the manga was announced.

Yeah, HLJ needs to ditch their hamster-wheel driven servers. Hobbysearch's site has the far better user experinece – if you ignore mobile devices. I love their content and manual pics, it's easier to browse new items sorted by category, and to keep track of re-releases. You can still access their japanese content by deleting the "eng/" in the URL and you'll find all Bandai items.

I got a reply from HLJ "We have no plans to suspend selling Bandai kits of any kind overseas, and intend to fill all Bandai and Gunpla orders we receive. We don’t have any changes to report regarding this, but rest assured we will let you know if anything changes in the future." Makes you wonder what's up at Hobbysearch?

To my knowledge, Kawamori designed (at least) the Minerva, Fighter 1, Harpy & Siren, the Galleon tank, the Cordoba, and Dongo the robot. I wouldn't rule out some of the pirate ships, Crusher Joe is really jam packed with mecha stuff.
-
Guess who designed them...
-
It's Crusher Joe month! Looks great, that's exactly the level of weathering that I have in mind for my kit.
-
@MechTech That's a fine looking Harpy, even moreso since it was achived from the unpainted plastic! I have Norma's ride in limbo since I can't decide between a shiny new Ferrari look or a filthy space pirate post-soviet junkyard style. Speaking of space pirates – let's crush some:

Space stuff ahead.
