Don't you have a localized Goodsmile & PLAMAX shop? I use the EU outlet, and the retail prices are a bit higher than in Japan, but that is easily compensated saving customs & shipping costs.

@Chronocidal Platz made a resing kit of the Fand 2. I finished it right to the notorious cockpit pod. @wm cheng The F/A-27 and the Sylpheed have regular cockpit interiors, but the resin canopys are not great.

@wm cheng Stunning work as always - you created a beautiful beast that looks like it came from the future. You could easily pass this as photos of a 1/48 kit. As for UMa Models, I think their Harrier got good reviews.

@Papa Rat The Speltor is really the epitome of Nagano's Renaissance Robot Design 😍 Great work on the finish! And yeah, stick to the tape.

FYI Robin Hood was already dark & depressing back in 1976.

Netflix Original Stranger Things

@Thom here's something from the IMDB trivia section for you: IMO there's no reason not to praise this show – who would have thought that you could put basically "The Breakfast Club" and "John Carpenter's The Thing" in a blender and create not only a tentpole of streaming entertainment for most ages, but also a monument to nerd culture. My wife and her co-workers were on the hype train for weeks, and did we enjoy the ride. Was the final season perfect - maybe not, but entertaining & satisfying all the way. The feeling after the final episode brought me right back to a summer in my younger days when I had just finished another epic Stephen King novel, the mind still reeling from the experience, and reality some distance away. Also, let's go full circle and have Jamie Campbell Bower star in a Clockwork Orange remake, and Joe Keery as Snake Plissken.- 374 replies

General Sci-fi designs across various media

BTW Chris Foss did the basic design for the Eagle Transporter: And there is a tribute piece in the first Star Wars movie: -
Ok back to Hasegawa everyone 😀 I love the texture here:

We can't talk about British SF influences without mentioning Chriss Foss. One of the most prolific and unique SF artist since the late 70s. You couldn't walk into a bookstore without noticing one of his wild cover illustrations back then. He was part of the Jodorowski Dune design team and contributed some preliminary art to the Alien movie. To this day, I'm waiting for a big SF production to fully utilize his style. -
@all Looking forward to see your exciting work in the new year! Here's my output for 2025:

Another early treasure trove of spaceship designs is "Space: 1999", showcasing the talents of model builders Brian Johnson (2001, The Empire strikes back) and Martin Bower (Alien, Outland, Flash Gordon). Both never bore the title concept designer, but their hands-on approach produced iconic ships like the Eagle Transporter and the Nostromo. -
A composite image I made (no A.I.!)

Beautiful composition & execution. I would love to see more shots of the models. -
So I invested a small part of my family fortune for a 3D viewing last night. In terms of CGI craftmanship, the franchise is still cutting edge, and 3D is the proper way to enjoy these films. The art department was also firing on all cylinders fleshing out the new creatures & environments, and the first 20 minutes or so of establishing narration were my favorite part of the movie. The "plot" pretty much spirals down to iterations of "Surrender Jake Sully - we got your wife/daughter/other daughter/adopted son/Jake Sully", still the resulting action sequences were mostly well entertaining. The character interactions got on my nerves pretty quickly, with the notable exception of the queen of the fire people. Oona Chaplin's character pretty much steals the scene in each of her sequences, and she fills the gap of a competent villain that was so obvious in the second movie. The Reco Quaritch, in comparision, is mostly borderline comical this time.

That depends, apparently – I have a 1/48 J-10, and every panel has it's own ZIP code.

I say get it for the nostalgic boxart! But seriously, the size does not justify the current prices, especially if you take tekering's offer into account. It is a good kit of the subject, though.
