  1. Skull Leader, I think this thread needs a bigger version of your Avatar. Fast.
  2. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays a bowie-ish popstar in "Velvet Goldmine", and I dare say he could protrait a bowie-ish alien with the same inenstity. Another choice would be Christian Bale. I like the Roeg movie a lot, but I can also see why people hate it. A remake could profit from tighter pacing and updated visuals for the sets & alien products, but most likely would screw up with the portrayal of the alien world, which IMO has the most haunting sequences of the original film. I'd be happy enough if the remake comes out like "Vanilla Sky" to "Abre los ochos".
  3. I just saw "The Man who fell to Earth" (starring David Bowie) on TV and while browsing IMDB found out that this is also on the Remake List. While first news of this appear already in 2005, it now has a 2009 release date on IMDB.
  4. Text says Ozma's VF-25S is coming in November. Time to finish Alto's until then.
  5. It looks a bit crude for a new kit, but the design is more in the spirit of the animation than the Hase kit. More Macross kits from a different source is always good news.
  6. Looks very good in the new photos. They got the neck extension and the hip joint position correct this time. Note the seamless fit of the landing gear doors on the legs! Front landing gear doors seems to open for the transformation, good details there. Can't wait to build one.
  7. Wasn't it already confirmed that the kit will have (waterslide) decals?
  8. ZOMG the dog-legged Alien from the third movie made it into Frontier - get a flamethrower!
  9. It looks extremely bulky, but I think maybe the photographer also made a mistake with the hip assembly; the legs should sit much deeper. Come to think of it, do we ever see how the legs join the "pelvis" in the animation? On the stills, they just seem to "hover" there. The head is on the bulky side, too, but I like the level of detail they put there, considering that this is 1/72. BTW is there a 1/100 toy, too, in the small pics?
  10. Why does this happen to one of the most promising SF/comic movie projects instead of any other lame run-of-the-mill remake trash that Hollywood usually throws at us? Well, let's wait for some entertaining conspiracy theories.
  11. Well Ender's Game is coming as a Marvel Comic series (with quite decent looking artwork), so may be it's a first step toward Hollywood.
  12. I think they made the landing gear extra sturdy for the toy guys transformation. Water slide decals is great news. What bothers me most is the gap around the engines at the aft of the fighter.
  13. Leave an impression with your Skull Squadron business card case! http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?Dis=2&SeriesID=3659 (up for pre-order, but no pics yet)
