  1. Just a typo. It should read tile loop, of course.
  2. Source Code This is directed by "Moon"'s Duncan Jones, and I like the rather minimalistic setup.
  3. I'm surprised the idea didn't get exploited earlier: http://steelgetsreal.com/ Unfortunately, the robots look totally silly, and Hugh Jackmann isn't a guarantee for a good movie anymore, either.
  4. I remember that the "who is infected" tension creeped me out more than the actual monsters, who were too over-the-top for my taste. But I found the dissected stuff at the deserted station very disturbing. Great designs.
  5. Combustion engines. I mean, this is the 21st century, right? I want my solar-powered hovercar NOW!
  6. A great Monster from the January issue of Hobby Japan:
  7. Don't forget mutilating his own father in the process.
  8. Found a nice built of the 1/200 Monster in splinter camo paintjob: http://www.modelers-g.jp/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=5895
  9. Hobby Japan has combined the new Wave legs with the Imai Defender torso
  10. Now for some more important news: Zvezda will bring us a 1/72 kit of the T-50! Hobbysearch link Oh and Hasegawa is working on a proper SU-33 in 1/72.
  11. Mind to show some of that? I think the VF-4 and VF-11 just barely fit into Hasegawa's realm of realistic aircraft designs, the VF-2SS wouldn't survive a redesign. Imagine it being riddled with rivets! PS I also voted for a 1/48 Saab Viggen.
  12. I'm actually more annoyed by the "Oldboy" remake.
  13. I have both the old Tomahawk and Defender, and the (Imai) Defender is already a major improvement against the (ARII) Tomahawk. I agree that the new Wave kits are fantastic, but there's no reasom for a somewhat experienced modeler to shy away from the old kits. I think you can get great results with the Regult and Monster with an OOB build and a good paintjob.
  14. The VF-4 needs your support.
  15. http://www.hasegawausa.com/suggest-a-model.html Fire away!
  16. It's from the December issue. I think the leg articulation mod is the most important to give this kit a decent appearance. Surface detail was ok on the Imai kits, so if you can live with the deviations from the original art, work on these seams, give it a nice paintjob and build up your Destroid Army without shelling out a fortune on garage kits or the updated releases.
  17. Here's a shot of the "Future Car" version: Proportion and surface detail is excellent. The interior is a bit simple, so modders can go all out there. Doors open, and you can change the front wheels and covers from flying to driving configuration.
  18. Yeah, Syd Mead is still a Sentury ahead.
  19. Ok this toy has a long story with license issues (so it went under the name "Future Car"), but it seems they are kinda sorted out now, and fans will finally get their official 1/18 scale Blade Runner Spinner Police Car. Oh, and it comes bundled with some Blu-ray discs... http://www.hlj.com/product/MEDMAV-83830
  20. From Model Grafix
  21. Model Grafix pimped up the Spartan
  22. For those not familiar with the old school kits, Hobbysearch has photos up where you can see what to expect in terms of seamlines: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10129345b/30/1
  23. Here's a small, but clearer pic - the kit is loaded with details! http://happy.ap.teacup.com/runchickens/img/1287025885.jpg
  24. So can we add to the definition that "Mecha" has an internal or external power source for movement (not counting human muscular activity)? Anything without this is just a "mecha prop".
  25. Here's the full magazine page. Can anybody translate what they say about the tooling?
