  1. "The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station."
  2. What I expect from the DVD is to give us some 30 minutes that have been cut from the theatrical release.
  3. I think this one has some modding potential:
  4. I saw it yesterday with three friends who are absolutely not into science fiction, and we all liked every bit of it. On a purely technical level, this is the most brilliant movie I witnessed so far. Every shot displayed how much work has been put into the making of this world, I felt right at home in Cameron's hardware and set designs, and the scenery blew away anything LOTR had impressed me with effortlessly. The Na'vi were much better than Gollum x 2000, given their range of acting and performances in the different surroundings, and they were convincing all the time. Ironically, I can't remember when a "real" actress from a recent Hollywood movie delivered such a touching performance as Neytiri . There were few points where the movie could have been better, but nothing really critical IMO. The Helos made me for the first time not miss the old days of physical FX models. Can't wait for the next Cinefex issue.
  5. Idolo with complete legs and partial wings attached
  6. We should add Thin Red Line to the "inspired by" list for it's use of natural scenery in the story.
  7. David gets a little Christmas present from Bandai: Hopes & Dreams, guys!
  8. Very nice work, ba2784. - Here's a new pic of the CF VF-27 with a detailed CAD drawing of the head
  9. you sure about that?
  10. Here's a more ambitious build from the latest Model Grafix issue.
  11. Yay for her bobbed hair. I like the stylized approach in the photo, I wonder if that's the general theme for the movie. The game visuals, however, look like a late 90s image comic. Smoke in cyberspace? And I can't get over how they mangled the logo...
  12. Alien, Blue Thunder, Dark Star - Dan O'Bannon participated in the creation of quite a handful of movies that defined old school science fiction cinema for me. Farewell, Sgt. Pinback. http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=26564
  13. I have a current ratio of 1:1 built to unbuilt FSS kits. I feel pretty sane.
  14. Metallic Lucifer from the January issue of Dengeki Hobby
  15. No, I just used my eyes and made the screenshots myself
  16. They did already - the above screenshot is from the teaser, and the lower from the trailer. Note how motion blur and atmospheric effects were added, background composition was changed and the trees have disappeared altogether. By coincidence, I just watched a rerun of The Abyss on TV. The Deep Core set is the most convincing SF movie set I can remember, I loved the amount of detail, and the character interaction. Can't wait to see Avatar.
  17. Great post, Ghost Train. And btw, the Airbus 400M just finished his maiden flight. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Airbus-Indu...400M/1623988/L/
  18. I completed Idolo's body
  19. Spaceship 2 is now VSS Enterprise
  20. I recently uploaded photos of my built and unbuilt MH kits to this flickr-album
  21. IMO the grey parts accentuate the new IP parts for this kit. And on your enhanced screenshot we can see that the cockpit is the same as Brera's. Here's the shot from Ep 16
  22. From the screenshots I have, all 3 VF-27 in the show are the "Kai" versions (with the "Ears"). It's a bit difficult to tell if the green ones actually have different cockpit viewports. Maybe Bandai just used green plastic for the test shots since it is closer to the final appeareance.
