It's actually the PAK FA scheme in Flanker colors
-
The colors were custom mixed with Tamiya acrylics. The light blue is white & medium blue in a 7:1 ratio, the darker tone is 2:1.

ED-209 looks far too transformer-y busy to be taken seriously. This is all the Robocop remake I need:

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
electric indigo replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Pan's Labyrinth is definitely far beyond the rest of Del Toro's work, which is not that bad to begin with. I would have preferred if he had made his "Mountains of Madness".- 1207 replies

Could be the most original movie with a robot
electric indigo replied to Twoducks's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nice concept, but the robot could look a little less boring. Did anybody watch Hinokio? -
B to the F to the G derex, good luck painting that monster.

Great details, but isn't it a bit small to be 1/35?

Those releases are aimed at the collector/toy crowd, not the modelers who sand, putty and paint their kits. Blame Koto for making dubious marketing decisions, but this has nothing to do with the quality of their AC line from a modeler's perspective.

The AC kits are certainly not of the shake-n-bake type, but the quality of their moldings and the level of detail prove that Koto is the right manufacturer for the kind of machines like the Rex. And judging a kit by the color of the unpainted plastic - come on. I got pretty decent results with my Aaliyah. Aaliyah album

Have you ever build one Koto's Armored Core models? Best Mecha kits around in their scale. In fact I secretly hoped for years that Koto or PLUM would finally get around offering a Rex one day.
