Water color, or artists gouache, to be specific. It's odorless and can be corrected easily. Usually, I use a darker tone of the base color, but here I went for black and smudge the excess with my finger for a dirtier look.

Thanks, derex - looking at the real things, it's too perfect actually. Desert makes them age fast. But the Greek ones are the worst. Do they park them in earth holes filled with salt water? Worked on the panel lines today, completed the under side and part of the left.

Here's the full resolution character from the Kotaku page: I like the new Makoto, but I always liked the movie design better than the manga version.

More Desert Falcon work: I'm building the Emirates' version straight from the box (Hasegawa). Is there a place where I can find a description of all the humps and intakes they put on this thing?

I'll wait for the Kotobukiya version...

The stand is made from a material that is called "Dibond" here; it's 3 mm black PVC sandwiched between 0,5 mm aluminum sheets - looks very sleek. I got a handful of pieces from a company that makes custom shop displays, it's also used to mount large photos, so you may find it at related businesses. The kit is mounted on a strong 1 mm steel wire, I simply drilled a hole in the fuselage at the center of gravity.

Kotobukiya Ray is not even announced. But seeing the success of their Rex kit, I'm sure it will show up in a couple of moths.

Thank you, ivorysniper. Here are more pics, but I really need to set up a proper shooting.

New images of Ray: Full size here.

Mine's still in the mail. I also wonder how big the finished kit will be.

He was actually quite good at being bad in "Conspiracy Theory".

They already exist - the Wave kits are pretty decent. -
