  1. What's wrong with the super packs?
  2. I still wonder if we'll have a "Planet of the Apes" moment at the end. After all, this is a M. Night Shyamalan film.
  3. Pacific Rim = Transformers - Deceptions & Shia LaBeouf? I wonder what they'll do between the Robot vs. Kaiju scenes.
  4. Love the visual aesthetics. The general approach (visuals & setting) reminds me of some european comic stories from the days of the old Heavy Metal magazines. "Gangrène/Garbage" from Juan Giménez and Carlos Trillo comes to mind. If it turns out to be a "wealthy elite exploiting the rest of the planet" plot, it will be interesting to see it next to Blomkamp's upcoming "Elysium".
  5. Japan vs. the J-20
  6. I think Pacific Rim would need more Super Robo than Real Robot voltage.
  7. The old Imai kits have totally spoiled me
  8. Pics of the raw Kotobukiya Rex. Looks great already.
  9. I like the pointier nose of the V1 better, but it may look not so good in Battroid form. Anyway, I'm glad that they avoided the angular front of the canopy that ruins the Hase kit for me. And yes, the head looks very big.
  10. Bandai so far stopped the model line after the Tornado Pack '25 and the 1/100 '29, while the DX toys got the large '29, the 171-ex and now the regular '171, so it's clear where the money goes.
  11. Thanks for the photos, Cain. I hope to give my Kotobukiya Rex a similar appearance, only a little lighter on monetary and display space resources.
  12. Bandai's Macross F kits, while being a nightmare to build for the old school modeling crowd, were easily on par with their finest Gundam offerings.
  13. Who cares when we get this epic cover illustration:
  14. GU, thank you for the comments, and you are right, there is a very light shading on the kit to distinguish it from a toy. I think now I need Koto's Jehuty, too. The kits are so brilliant. I hope they continue the series.
  15. I finished the beast. FYI, this Orbital Frame is the Vic Viper. "Anubis" on the stand refers to the title of the second ZOE game. More photos here
  16. Finished my Vic Viper! A great kit from Kotobukiya with the finest decals I ever worked with. More photos here
  17. Yes, it's a Flying P3nis. IN SPACE.
  18. Hmm, it's Groundhog Day - in Space! Plot The story is told from the perspective of Keiji Kiriya, a new recruit in the United Defense Force which fights against the mysterious 'Mimics' which have laid siege to Earth. Keiji is killed on his first sortie, but through some inexplicable phenomenon wakes up having returned to the day before the battle, only to find himself caught in a time loop as his death and resurrection repeats time and time again. Keiji's skill as a soldier grows as he passes through each time loop in a desperate attempt to change his fate.
  19. Looks like the WWZ movie is to Zombie movies what "Cloverfield" was to the Kaiju genre. I like it.
  20. Connery and Moore fit perfectly into what Bond movies were expected to be at their time. I guess we'll find the Craig Bonds silly some day, too. - I found this track from the Weekend Players' (=Groove Armada) unreleased album very Bond-y: Plaything
