I still wonder what he was thinking when he drew that left hand of the Battroid... -

Speaking of sexiness - the guys at Lockheed did their best to beat it out of this bird: F-16E Desert Warthog Falcon

Lens flare in this decade is what slowly rotating ceiling fans were in the 80s.

The stand is made from a material that is called "Dibond" here; it's 3 mm black PVC sandwiched between 0,5 mm aluminum sheets - looks very sleek. I got a handful of pieces from a company that makes custom shop displays, it's also used to mount large photos, so you may find it at related businesses. The kit is mounted on a strong 1 mm steel wire, I simply drilled a hole in the fuselage at the center of gravity.

Kotobukiya Ray is not even announced. But seeing the success of their Rex kit, I'm sure it will show up in a couple of moths.

Thank you, ivorysniper. Here are more pics, but I really need to set up a proper shooting.

New images of Ray: Full size here.

Mine's still in the mail. I also wonder how big the finished kit will be.

He was actually quite good at being bad in "Conspiracy Theory".

The special edition BR will have extra lens flare. In fact, there will be a whole disc containing just extensive lens flare sequences. - Really, I think the lens flare criticism has gotten a bit out of proportion. But at least it seems to keep people from going after JJA for his shaky camera work.- 1020 replies

Nice. Tom Hardy is a good start. I hope for a reboot. I wonder if we'll see Charlize Theron (with her shaved head) as an incarnation of Tank Girl.

I wouldn't have too high hopes there; with their re-release of the Imai kits they basically have that ground covered, and I doubt that the other kits have a comparable selling power to the VF-1. Even the Q-Rea kits were cancelled while Macross F was still a hot franchise. -
Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'
electric indigo replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Maybe robot films going blockbuster-mainstream means the designs don't have to please the niche mecha fan community, like the Bayformers they only need to work cinematically, i.e. as a general impression, to the general audience. We had this in Real Steel and in del Toro's own Hellboy: The Golden Army. The robots are plot devices, and not the stars of the show.- 1206 replies
