  1. As it turns out, the length is the same as the Bandai version, but the profile of the canopy is higher. Probably to accommodate a correctly scaled pilot...
  2. Let's see if the magic of HJ's modelers can save this kit. Do I see a new nose here?
  3. It looks pretty short on the solid prototype, too. Maybe a re-interpretation of the design? Let the flames begin...
  4. Holy Sh!t! Best space scenes since 2001.
  5. Brilliant idea and very convincing paintwork!
  6. Dalong has en extensive photo review for people who are still on the fence: http://dalong.net/review/etc/mv01/mv01_p.htm
  7. Homeland Security Robot at SDCC: http://mecha-guy.blogspot.de/2013/07/homeland-security-robot-from-elysium-on.html It looks like a lawnmower. With a gun. Which is totally cool.
  8. I think it's also a little scared...
  9. Well, I actually did read the first book when the son of my GF had it with him on a vacation - I'm fully ok with the language and character setup embracing the target group, but what I found appalling is how easily the author swallowed the whole beauty contest angle. Ruined the main character and indicated a lack of maturity on the author's side.
  10. I like the ED-209, but they should totally fire their web designer.
  11. Sounds like it could easily turn into another "Hansel & Gretel"/"Van Helsing" type of experience. Surely not Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
  12. Mori Mori fest on the Mead Yamato kit
  13. I'm still under the impression that a lot of the traditional modelers bash the Bandai kit for not being a traditional model, which it wasn't meant to be from the beginning.
  14. With the new Play Arts Kai, you can admire Faora's butt all day: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10233764a3/20/3
  15. ...which happens to be on sale at HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/HSGSP271
  16. Now that's a really well-dressed GN-X you have there.
  17. The Striker NECA fig actually looks quite good. The surface texture in the movie is a bit overdone. There's also a Sideshow offering: as well as the alternative design: http://i.imgur.com/fMOUcUu.jpg
  18. I'd rather have a proper 1/72 kit; it's such a big bird with pretty plain surfaces. But maybe I fall when I see the first builds of the 1/48. Mechaninac, I've heard about some bad apples in the Hobby Boss range, but I built their 1/72 Rafale and it was Hasegawa quality.
  19. I use gaspipe pliers on my crusty Tamiya bottles because I'm too lazy to do my Iron Modeler's Workout properly...
