  1. I can't help thinking that compared to the Pegasus, the Galactica looks like the far more advanced ship. Great Viper - will you have a go at the classic kits, too? - Jehuty on my workbench:
  2. Definitely the same kit - look at the bridge. The hard lighting in the previous photos really brought out the worst in this model. So while technically it could have been a better kit, it might look o.k. in real life. I wouldn't recommend a panel wash, though...
  3. More Moebius Galactica: Release date now set back to February 2014.
  4. This is the SD Jehuty from Union Creative http://mecha-guy.blogspot.de/2013/10/union-creative-anubis-zone-of-enders.html
  5. I watch occasional re-runs of "Demolition Man" just for the scene where he gives Sandra Bullock the knitted sweater he made for her the night before.
  6. Kotobukiya's Anubis is released I'm still painting energy lines on my Jehuty...
  7. Pics of the new Garmillas set from Hobbysearch
  8. @all - thanks again The base color is lightened up and thinned, then I spray very close to the surface in an irregular pattern. You can see the effect better in this pic of my Kotobukiya Aaliyah, especially on the legs.
  9. Proto Zero Wing going John Woo in the MG boxart:
  10. Buy a ton of the 1/72 kits to give them some incentive...
  11. Actually, I was totally making that up...
  12. Thanks for the appreciation, guys. wm cheng, I did indeed spray a lighter color in the center of each panel, in a slightly cloudy application. It is very subtle on the model and I'm surprised it even showed up in the photos. Panel lines were accentuated with dark grey gouache. I chose colors with a reduced contrast compared to the original russian scheme so the beautiful lines of the aircraft didn't get disrupted too much.
  13. Due to massive cost overruns, the VF-11 program had to be downgraded to conventional engines. It was either that or being replaced by drones...
  14. F-14 + Macross = WIN
  15. No no no - that's Sukhoi's latest project. American fighters DO NOT have canards...
  16. Thank you all. Petar, the kit is not overly complicated, but also not a shake-n-bake model. Some putty was required at the closed landing gear doors, which was to be expected, and on the halves of the engine tunnels/legs. The lower legs have little contact area to glue. I encourage you to try all kinds of color/camo schemes on this plane (Model Grafix turned the two-seater into a Vietnam-era bomber), and yes, it's painted entirely with custom mixed Tamiya acrylics. One more shot:
  17. I finally managed to get some good shots of my 1/72 Hasegawa VF-11, dressed in a PAK FA inspired camo scheme. I smoothed out some of the irritating details on the nose, closed the opening for the head cannon and replaced the pilot, everything else is OOB. Good Hasegawa kit of a great design. The details on the hull feel a little under-inspired compared to what they put on the wings, but I'm glad they didn't have another rivet-fest like on their VF-1s.
  18. Yeah, Moebius missed a huge chance here, considering what is possible in injection molding today. If the usual suspects have a go at it, we can expect a lighting & PE upgrade kit. Hobbysearch lists it with a December release date and has another photo for us:
  19. New peeks from the hobby magazines - not much to report, though.
  20. New pics of a finished Moebius Galactica Price is about 70 USD.
  21. Uh-oh...
  22. Say what you want about the series, but Gundam AGE had some pretty cool designs. I just finished the AGE-2 Orbital in slightly modified colors.
  23. Ok someone watched Alien & Prometheus and then went to Mars with a slightly lower budget... The Hardware looks good, though. But the trailer already has more worn tropes than you can shake a flamethrower at.
