  1. FYI, Tamiya acrylic aluminium is better (= smaller metal flakes) than Tamiya acrylic silver. Turn X! Mead's designs are made for metallic surfaces, with a hint of orange or blue pinstripes on top, please.
  2. Judging from his previous movie, the director has a very different approach to the superhero genre. Which is a good thing. After all, how many additional lycra-clad action figures do we need on the big screen?
  3. Very nice color scheme, and I love the A head.
  4. Say what you want about the Dolores design, but that's a nice box art.
  5. Hopes are high that this will not be your usual FF Movie. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Fantastic-Four-Have-Found-Footage-Feel-43635.html and from Kate Mara:
  6. Impressive work on an awesome design. I like the simple, but effective presentation, too. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Let me bring to your attention the works of Adam Tooby, whose digital paintings grace the boxes of Airfix' modern kit range. There's a book collecting his work on the horizon, meanwhile you can feast your eyes on the pics on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Finest-Hour-Art/235890616429673
  8. Not as comprehensive as the Jasmine set, but Hasegawa's own photo etch parts for the VF-1 are still available: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10018812
  9. Can anybody make sense of the text they tattoo on Max' body? Is it a description of potential spare parts?
  10. If you like the Vulcan, you will love the Victor:
  11. I stumbled upon some weird aftermarket parts for the 1/32 Skyraider kit http://www.hlj.com/product/BRGBRL32012/Air Here's the story of the Toilet Bomb: http://bayourenaissanceman.blogspot.de/2011/03/story-behind-toilet-bomb.html
  12. My respect for italian modelers grows more and more. Beautiful work on your blog. Did you also build the SV-51 seen at the convention?
  13. It has always puzzled me why the vulcan has a camo pattern on the underside...
  14. That's a nice design, except that it's not exactly black...
  15. Johnson's design preceded McOuarrie's painting. It was decided that the bubble cockpit would cause too may reflection problems when filming the miniatures (apparently resolved later when the A-Wing appeared), resulting in the version in the McQuarrie painting. The filming miniatures actually had no glass in their cockpit frames.
  16. Here we have the first conspiracy theories about how the flight plan of MH17 was changed fatally on July 17th:
