  1. Actually, at one (early) point into this movie I thought "if this was an anime, it would be easier to bear"...
  2. Tsutomu Nihei (Blame, Knights of Sidonia) has developed this toy figure in his signature, eery style. https://www.facebook.com/1000toys
  3. The Jagd Doga is one of the classic designs, eventually they have to make a MG of it. It might take another couple of years, though. But usually this works in the benefit of the kit.
  4. Maybe the Japanese are smarter in their taste for movies, especially if these movies rip off/pay homage to their core pop culture icons?
  5. One could argument that nothing says "F*ck you" to the rest of the world better than a gated community IN SPACE. The space station could be a work of art, but juxtaposed with the situation below, it becomes an obscenity.
  6. The latest promo shots seem to have some color correction applied.
  7. A recent TV documentary showed german companies already printing dental fixtures and industrial turbine rotors in metal. Cost effectiveness beats traditional casting here, and you have even better control over the material properties. The rotors were quite large, about 40 cm diameter.
  8. Pics of the 1/48 Hobby Boss YF-23: http://www.inpayne.com/models/yf23hb.html Always nice to see some more angles of the bird.
  9. 3A Ray: With a wingspan of 98 cm it's ready to take over your house. More large pics: http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/threea-2013年12月24日公開-meta-gear-ray/
  10. From Hobbysearch's product description translation: "Swastika type camouflage characteristic can be reproduced in the decal attached."
  11. I love the characters & the world; this is one franchise where I don't mind more of the same.
  12. If you're not filthy rich, paint your models yourself, and don't have unlimited display estate at your disposal, the choice is pretty obvious.
  13. The colors are somewhat dubious in the concept art for MGS 4, but I also think that Kotobukiya went a bit overboard with the teal. The lighter metallic version seems a better match. http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120223015122/metalgear/images/d/d0/Ray.jpg Interestingly, the Three A Ray has similar, more saturated colors. If I get the Ray, I'll go with the MGS 2 colors.
  14. First testshot pics of Tarangus' 1/48 Viggen: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i93fjc13pzdbapf/TJrVvHik7T
  15. Ray is coming! April release, 8.400 Yen
  16. I was of the same opinion when the kit first came out, but then I built mine almost straight out of the box. You can make or break the kit with the paint job, and things are certainly tricky here. Among others, I airbrushed a distinct shadow line along the armor, and the kit looks good enough for me. Accurizing the armor the way the japanese modeler did is a mountain of work that doesn't pay off IMO.
  17. Stunning build of the Nu Galactica kit with lights, published in Model Grafix: http://dorobou.blog.so-net.ne.jp/archive/c2304477968-1
  18. Interesting to see how the simple black triangle behind the canopy lengthens the cockpit and makes the nose appear sleeker and Tomcat-like. Good looking paintjob, but since you went for a worn look on the fuselage, the decals could be given a very light overspray of the hull color to tie them in more.
  19. Excellent finish on the Skull Squadron, but the Max & Milia versions really bring out the best of this design. I see you dropped the ventral fin like I did, this bird has too many wings already. Do your recent kits have a different canopy from the Milia aircraft?
  20. That's a little bit on the overkill side...
  21. It's Hasegawa's 1/200 Shuttle + Hubble set. - That's an impressive squadron you got there. Did you ever build any russian birds?
