Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII

Weren't there experimental shark skin coatings for civilian aircrafts to reduce fuel consumption? -
The people here who seriously consider buying this thing should approach John Moscato/Captain America for a new GK project. Maybe there are a few more Orguss fans who want to chime in. As an added bonus, you'll actually get something worth your money.

Go for the Hasegawa kit by all means. Even if you put some effort in the Bandai VF-19, it will still look like a toy when finished (unless you go all out with it), while the Hase Battroid will look good just using glue and some paint, which you should be able to master. Here's an out-of-the-box build with a great paint job: http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/index.php?/topic/41825-hasegawas-172-vf-1a-battroid-valkyrie/ The Wave kits are ok, but seriously overpriced.

That was a member of the Soloturk acrobatic team. Here's another take: Pretty nifty paintjob, btw: -
You might want to check just how many physical sets or partial sets were built for the prequels. I doubt that the Abrams' movie will have a significantly different ratio here, nor that it will be crucial for the quality of the movie. The actors were lost mainly because Lucas is terrible as a writer and in directing humans, and the green screen scenes didn't make it easier for them. And I'd rather have a spectacular CG scenery than a brewery standing in for a spaceship engine room.

Good & quick work, Sir. I just checked this against the Hasegawa prototype, which looks a lot sleeker than the YS kit. It will be interesting to see how the final kit will turn out.

So instead of an overpriced F-16 derivate the JSDF will develop an overpriced F-22 derivate? -
I agree that the HGUC Victory is one of Bandai's best efforts. The only point where it's lacking is the hands, they're slightly too big, and I wish Bandai would offer more variety other than the weapon holding fist that just looks stupid if it doesn't hold anything. The kits from AGE and 00 had better offerings there. On my model, I replaced the hands with Builder's Parts pieces, they still could be a little smaller.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
electric indigo replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, the source material was already there, it's not like they desperately had to make up a story. I also quite liked the Dame to kill for comic, but I think the first movie was already a stretch of what works in a comic-to-movie translation, and that quickly wore off with the second film.- 65 replies
